Forecast: OneRepublic Headed For Top 20 Debut

OneRepublic just dropped their latest single "Love Run Out" on Sunday morning and it looks like it's gonna be a huge one! Though it won't see official release as a single until tonight at midnight, the track has already made its way to the top 25 on the building chart. The building chart currently only reflects the first 2 days of the tracking period this week (Saturday and 1/2 of Sunday), but constantly updates until 8pm on Friday night. That final update that scans through reflects all plays, votes and radio spins that have counted for all tracks during the entire week. That final tally becomes the official chart for the end of the week (that is then published).

Though it has only been racking up plays for a few hours, "Love Runs Out" has already bulleted at #23 on the building chart making it the 23rd most played track within the past 2 days. That's a pretty great achievement. If continues pulling in plays at the same rate throughout the rest of the week, it should land right inside the chart's top 20. That would automatically make the track OneRepublic's 2nd highest charting single in history. "If I Lose Myself" reached the top 50 (#43), while "Counting Stars" landed at #1 for 2 straight weeks (dropped 3-4 in the past week). While 2 weeks at the top isn't a lot, keep in mind that the track has also spent a record shattering 11 non-conseutive weeks at #2 and 21 weeks in the top 10 overall. It also reached #1 in its 24th week within the top 50, the longest climb to the summit. It was also certified Platinum for shifting over 1000 chart points through its run so far.

Meanwhile, Lorde's "Team" might hold at #1 for a second week. I say might mainly because Katy Perry's #2 peaking "Dark Horse (feat. Juicy J)" landed right behind "Team" last week. If Katy reaches #1, she would set a new record for the longest climb to the summit (31st week). If Lorde holds at #1 for a second week, "Team" will bump past the 600 point mark.

Disclosure's fast rising "Latch (feat. Sam Smith)" is also headed for the top 5, and could possibly reach as high as #3 by the end of the week. More reports to follow.

Come back for voting in round 2 of my top 32 bracket competition and for the full chart dated April 17th, 2014!
