What We Know: Ultraviolence by Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey has kept the wraps pretty tight on her new highly anticipated 2nd studio album, "Ultraviolence". Apparently, the album has been in the works for just over 6 months, and the title was officially announced by Lana Del Rey in mid December alongside the release of the critically panned 30 minute "Tropico" film.

Previously, all we could confirm was that "West Coast" (which dropped in mid April) was the album's lead off single. Following that release, a tentative June 2nd release date for the album was set. As of more recent reports, that is the confirmed release date. On May 8th, the track list was accidentally posted by the Amazon France store. See it below:

Expected Release: June 13th
Tracklist:
  1. Cruel World
  2. Ultraviolence
  3. Shades of Cool
  4. Brooklyn Baby
  5. West Coast
  6. Sad Girl
  7. Pretty When You Cry
  8. Money Power Glory
  9. Fucked My Way Up to the Top
  10. Old Money
  11. The Other Woman
  12. Black Beauty
  13. Guns and Roses
  14. Florida Kilos

According to additional reports, some sites are listing the album as being released on June 6th (4 days after the speculated release), though I'm pretty sure that's just because some countries release music on Fridays, unlike the Monday or Tuesday releases that are common in the United States.

More reports are saying that the official album is actually spilt into two different acts on separate discs. Apparently tracks from "Cruel World" through "Sad Girl" encompass the first act while the remaining 8 tracks are part of the second act.

Other insiders and fans are also constantly mentioning the different formats that the album will be released on. Apparently there is a regular edition (both digital and physical), a deluxe edition (both digital and physical), a vinyl edition and a physical super deluxe edition that supposedly includes 2 discs, 2 vinyl discs, a special 16 page booklet and 4 exclusive photos.

UPDATE: According to Amazon France, the first 11 tracks are part of a 1 disc standard version. You can get all 14 by buying a 4 disc set with unknown features. It is rumored to include 1 CD (deluxe with 14 tracks), a DVD documentary/making of the album/music movie, and two vinyl discs. Based on this it seems like you have to buy the Super deluxe version of "Ultraviolence" to get the 3 extra tracks.

UPDATE 2: On May 9th the official album cover surfaced online through the Universal Music Website. The album is expected to drop on June 13th, an odd release for the US (Friday) considering most new albums are released on Tuesdays.

UPDATE 3: Later on May 9th, an alternate version of "West Coast" for the European markets was premiered. It will be released on May 30th.

I will be updating this page more as information starts to become available!
