Playlist: Music of the 2014 FIFA World Cup

The 2014 FIFA World Cup is finally here, but what music goes along with the games? Find out the official music of the 2014 FIFA World Cup before the start of the first of 64 games running now through July 13th, 2014. You'll want to keep these tracks (most of them) in the loop for the rest of the summer. Check out the official playlist below.

Official Song: "We Are One (Ole Ola) [feat. Jennifer Lopez and Claudie Leitte]" by Pitbull
While it really should not be the official anthem for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, "We Are One (Ole Ola)" is actually a decent track. Despite this, it has received loads of negative critical reviews for not sounding "Brazilian" or like it belongs in a football game. The track was recorded by Pitbull in collaboration with Jennifer Lopez and Brazilian act Claudie Leitte, and was performed live for the first time on June 12th at the opening ceremony of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Official Anthem: "Dar Um Jeito (We Will Find a Way) [feat. Avicii & Alexandre Pires]" by Santana and Wyclef Jean
This huge non-stop 4 artist party featuring Avicii, Alexandre Pires, Santana and Wyclef Jean isn't nearly as popular as the rest of the tracks officially released as 2014 World Cup songs, but nevertheless, the track is a good effort and is extremely catchy. Hopefully it'll manage to become somewhat of a success.

Stadium Anthem: "Olé" by Adelén
Adelén's "Olé" samples the 1969 classic track "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye", reinventing the classic line as "Na na hey hey olé", a somewhat ridiculous yet smart play on words. Thankfully, the track itself is remarkably catchy and very radio friendly.

The official video for the Stadium Anthem was filmed in Brazil and was estimated to cost over $135,000.

Honorary Official Song: "La La La (Brasil 2014) [feat. Carlinhos Brown]" by Shakira
Maybe it's because she was the lead singer for the 2010 World Cup Official Song ("Waka Waka"), but for whatever reason, Shakira wasn't picked to perform the "official" song for the 2014 games. Apparently that was okay with her because she released her own song (a new version of previously released "La La La") meant for the games. It also made the official soundtrack for the games, suggesting that it was possibly in the running. I'm listing it as the "honorary" official song because people worldwide have seemed to take a liking to this track, often saying that the official song (Pitbull's "We Are One") isn't nearly as good.
