The LOOK Vol. 2
In this new weekly feature titled "The LOOK", I will feature data about the positioning of hot/upcoming songs reflecting the first 4 days of the weekly airplay tracker (Saturday - Wednesday). To keep things more interesting, I will not feature any information about songs that charted in the top 10 during the previous week. The only way that a song in the top 10 could be featured is if it jumps into the top 10 from a rank of at least 5 position lower during the previous week.
For example:
#15-#10 (Covered)
#14-10 (Not Covered)
#14-9 (Covered)
etc.
Anyway lets kick off the second edition of "The LOOK"!
Some of the predictited song starts from last week's edition never came through. Why? Because "The LOOK" only reflects the first four days of the airplay tracker (Saturday-Tuesday). With three full days of airplay tracking left, many changes can happen.
The following is a list of songs that failed to reach the Hot 50 last week:
"Acapella" by Karmin
"Holy Grail" by Jay-Z & Justin Timberlake
This week's predictions:
Enrique Iglesias is set for an average opening (between Nos. 40-50) with his new single "Turn the Night Up". It has been both highly praised and somewhat critized for its new and fresh sound. With a completely new style, Enrique delivers for his previous fans and gains some new ones as well.
Macklemore's newest charting entry "Wing$" has gained a considerable amount in airplay during its sophmore week. The first four days of airplay are showing at least a 15 position jump, which would place it close to the No. 20-25 range. This is not unexpected, considering it opened higher than predicted last week.
Ariana Grande's "Baby I" could have a soft debut, as it currently ranks at No. 51 on the current airplay tracker.
Lana Del Rey should be able to leverage her moderate opening into a decent rise with "Summertime Sadness". It is looking at a 5 position increase.
Avicii's "Wake Me Up" also has a shot at charting.
Come back this weekend for the chart!
