Katy Tiz holds at #1 for a fourth consecutive with
newest single "Red Cup". Although continuously gaining in airplay,
its overall point lead over Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" has
decreased. Two weeks ago it had a 25% airplay lead, while its leads by a mere
9% this week. With this frame, Katy Tiz joins Vita Chambers, Macklemore/Ryan
Lewis and Swedish House Mafia in a four-way tie for the longest #1 reign of
2013. Swedish House Mafia actually landed 8 weeks at #1 but wrapped its run
with only four weeks in 2013.
Robin Thicke holds at #2 for a fourth week with
"Blurred Lines (feat. T.I. and Pharrell Williams)". Despite falling
short of "Cup", a large rise in airplay has helped shrink the gap
between positions 1 and 2.
Kelly Clarkson's "People Like Us" stalls
at #3 in its 24th week on the chart. Clarkson previously landed at #1 for a
single week with "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)", and #8 with
follow up single "Dark Side". It set the record for "Longest
Rise to the Top 5" reaching the landmark in 22 weeks. This record was
previously held by "How to Be a Heartbreaker", which ultimately stopped
at #5 during it's 21st week on the chart.
Loreen holds at #4 with her latest worldwide hit
"We Got the Power". Despite being her second lowest peaking single to
date, steady increases in overall airplay has proven that the song has an
unfully revealed potential.
Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray
Dalton)" returns to the top 5 (6-5). It previously peaked in the top slot
for a three consecutive weeks, narrowly missing the same amount of weeks that
Macklemore's previous hit "Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz)" ruled for (4). Before
reaching the top position, the song set the record for "Most Weeks at
#2", advancing over "Sweet Nothing (feat. Florence Welch)" by
Calvin Harris, which spent 8 consecutive weeks stalled in the runner-up
position.
Emmelie De Forest's "Only Teardrops"
swaps positions Macklemore's "Hold". As previously mentioned,
"Hold" rebounds to #5, while "Teardrops" slides to #6. It
spent two weeks atop the tally. It is just the fourth Eurovision entry to crack
the list, and is the second to hit #1 on the tally. Last year's winner
(Loreen's "Euphoria") debuted at #1, and became the #15 song of 2012,
and the #7 of 2012-2013 (so far). To date it has spent at least 2 weeks at
every position in the top 5.
Mia Martina gains 8-7 with "La La..." after
being stuck in the #11 position for four consecutive weeks. The song was able
to crack the top 10 due to its official release on iTunes and other digital
media sites.
Avril Lavigne's "Here's To Never Growing
Up" dips 7-8 after spending 4 weeks at #5, and 4 weeks at #1. 14 weeks
ago, the single became the 6th #1 debut in our chart's history. To date it has
spent 12weeks in the top 5, and a total of 15 in the top 10.
Ariana Grande's "The Way (feat. Mac
Miller)" bounds up 10-9 with its second largest airplay week to date (last
week posted its largest point gain as well as its biggest airplay week).
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis net a 3rd consecutive
top 10 as "Same Love (feat. Mary Lambert)" surges 12-10 as the charts
biggest airplay gainer. Their previous two singles hit the top spot, and if
this song can reach the penthouse, it could complete the longest trek to the
top spot.
