Meanwhile the rest of the top 10 gets a giant jolt as Ayah Marar and Calvin Harris send "Thinking About You" flying 12-1. With this frame, the hit song earns the "Biggest Jump to #1" chart achievement/record. The record was previously held by Train's "Drive By", which stormed 8-1 the week of May 24th, 2012. It becomes Ayah Marar's debut #1 single and Calvin Harris' 3rd out of 5 charting titles.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis hold at #2 with "Same Love (feat. Mary Lambert)" for a third consecutive week. The song initially vaulted 10-2 before stalling in this position. If the son is able to reach the #1 position then Macklemore & Ryan Lewis would become the first duo, group or artist to place their first 3 charting songs in the top position and would become the first act of 2013 to claim 3 leaders.
Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines (feat. Pharrell and T.I.)" departs the penthouse (1-3) after two weeks perched at #1. Despite continuing to gain in airplay, the song was not able to keep its lead over "Love", which in turn lost the #1 position to "Thinking About You".
Mia Martina moves 5-4 to a brand new peak with hit debut single "La La".
Avril Lavigne lands a second top 10 single as "Rock n Roll" 'rock's 6-5. It previously vaulted 13-6 and follows 4 week leader "Here's to Never Growing Up" as the next single lifted from Lavigne's upcoming self titled 5th studio album due out this September.
Katy Tiz dives 3-6 after four consecutive weeks at #1 with newest single "Red Cup". Before ending its run, Katy Tiz joined Vita Chambers, Macklemore/Ryan Lewis and Swedish House Mafia in a four-way tie for the longest #1 reign of 2013. Swedish House Mafia actually landed 8 weeks at #1 but wrapped its run with only four weeks in 2013.
"Radioactive" by the Imagine Dragons jumps 8-7. Up over 20% in airplay, the song yet again helps the Imagine Dragons earn their best airplay week ever (4th week in a row).
Kelly Clarkson's "People Like Us" slides 4-8in its 27th week on the chart. Clarkson previously landed at #1 for a single week with "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)", and #8 with follow up single "Dark Side". It set the record for "Longest Rise to the Top 5" reaching the landmark in 22 weeks. This record was previously held by "How to Be a Heartbreaker", which ultimately stopped at #5 during it's 21st week on the chart.
Loreen tumbles 7-9 with her latest worldwide hit "We Got the Power". It ultimately peaked at #4, and becomes her second lowest peaking single to date.
To round out the upper tier, Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray Dalton)" dips 9-10. It previously peaked in the top slot for a three consecutive weeks, narrowly missing the same amount of weeks that Macklemore's previous hit "Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz)" ruled for (4). Before reaching the top position, the song set the record for "Most Weeks at #2", advancing over "Sweet Nothing (feat. Florence Welch)" by Calvin Harris, which spent 8 consecutive weeks stalled in the runner-up position.
Come back Tuesday for the complete chart!
