Ellie Goulding hangs on to the success of her highest charting single with third top 5 hit "Figure 8" as it stays at #1 for a second week. Last week it took the record for "Longest Climb to #1 Ever", topping in its 20th week. Her other two top 5 singles both stopped at #4. She steadily rises with her other charting titles "I Need Your Love" and "Anything Could Happen", and is the biggest point gaining artist for a fourth consecutive week. "Anything Could Happen" slides to #15, and although it could still reach the top 10, its chances are narrowing.
Holding at #2 (for a seventh week) is Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray Dalton)". The song should easily top the tally as did its predecessor, but Ellie Goulding has proven to be an obstacle, barring the song from the top for two weeks (so far). The song has significantly gained in recent weeks, and might be able to dethrone the current champ next week. Until then...
Avril Lavigne's "Here's To Never Growing Up" holds at #3, after a four week command. Five weeks ago, the single became the 6th #1 debut in our chart's history. It gains significantly in airplay, and easily outpaces the #4 single.
NERVO's "Hold On" jumps 6-4 during its fifth week. This is the 4th week it has posted gains, and becomes NERVO's only top 5 entry.
Emmelie De Forest enters at #5 with HOT SHOT DEBUT (and Eurovision Favorite/Winner) "Only Teardrops". This Danish 20 year old's debut hit has all the right pieces, but is a very unexpected entry on this chart. It is just the fourth Eurovision entry to crack the list, and is the third to make the top 10. Last year's winner (Loreen's "Euphoria") debuted at #1, and became the #15 song of 2012, and the #7 of 2012-2013 (so far). Cascada's "Glorious" peaked at #6, and Robin Stjernberg's "You" peaked at #23.
Speaking of Loreen, she debuts at #22 with new single "We Got the Power". Although it is her smallest debut, it had only two days to rack up airplay points (due to a midweek release). Despite the conditions, it managed to do well.
Kat DeLuna launches 9-6 with "Stars". It boosts right over Katy Tiz (who lead it by one position last week). At this point, both songs have earned the same amount of points, but Kat DeLuna would win the tie, to her higher peak.
Katy Tiz scoots 8-7 with newest single "Red Cup". It barely posts enough points to best Sharoon Doorson, but held well in its second week.
Sharon Doorson slides 4-8 with the number 3 peaking hit "Fail In Love". Could this be the song's quick ending, or will it manage to rebound once the HOT SHOT DEBUTS stop clogging the top 10?
Rihanna's Hip Hop/ R&B track "Pour It Up" tumbles 5-9. It follows 3 other top 5 singles from Rihanna's Unapologetic, and is the lowest peaking one.
Rounding it out, Icona Pop's "I Love It (feat. Charli XCX)" dips 7-10 after commanding the list 6 weeks ago.
Come back on Saturday for the full chart!
