Sharon Doorson Debut At #9, Rebound to #10 Fueled By Album Release
Sharon Doorson easily wrapped her fingers around the biggest chart week of her career. She debuted at #9 with new dance anthem "Killer", and rebounded 14-10 with #3 peaking "Fail In Love". She lined up everything, including the drop of her debut album exactly one week after "Killer" was first released. The release of her album helped regenerate interest in her previous hit "Fail In Love". All of this combined easily helped her become the biggest point gaining artist of the week, adding over 65 plays (across) both songs from last week. About only 10 of those 65 additional plays went to the tally of "Fail In Love", while "Killer" went from 0 to about 55 plays. Although that is somewhat high for a #9 debut (meaning it should have ranked higher), the competition was much higher due to the fact that summer just started. Hopefully Sharon Doorson can keep up the momentum, and be a successful high debut. We say this because in our recent history, several songs have completely bombed after a great launch. This includes "We Own It (2 Chainz and Wiz Khalifa)" (10-17), and "Chemistry (Eva Simons) which debuted at #11, rose to #9 and spent only a total of 5 weeks on the chart. We will see what happens Friday...
