Chart Highlights: Mia Martina Rises, Beyoncé Debuts

Lady Gaga holds at #1 with "Do What U Want (feat. R. Kelly)" though it slides to 95 plays (-2). To date it has spent 6 non-consecutive weeks perched in the top position of the chart. It received extra buzz from the many teasers for its video. It dips due to nobody voting for it as the best song of the week.  Lady Gaga just won 4 awards at this year's CDS Music Chart Awards.

"The Monster (feat. Rihanna)" by Eminem rebounds 4-2 with an increase to 91 spins (+6). It is Rihanna's 10th top 10 hit and could possibly be her 5th #1 single if it reaches the top position. It is also Eminem's best performing single (beating "Berzerk" in week #1). "Berzerk" reached #9 in its 10th week while "The Monster (feat. Rihanna)" opened at #8. This single just won the "Best Collaboration" award at the CDS Music Chart Awards, while "Berzerk" scooped "Best Rap Recording".

Pitbull descends with "Timber (feat. Ke$ha)" as it slides 2-3. It had a particularly strong week and benefited heavily from the positive reviews of its music video, and Pitbull's interviews and promotions. This easily beats all other Pitbull songs to grace the list as well as the best charting Ke$ha single. She previously reached as high as #3 with "Die Young" around the same time last year.

Lady Gaga's "Applause" dips 3-4. It experiences a 3 spin dip (83), and notches its lowest recorded spin week in a 18 week run .To date the song has picked up near 900 points which puts it among the 20 best performers of the year. It will likely finish with a strong 980+ points by the end of the year (due to the added week of January 2nd, 2014 as part of the 2013 year) for a top 10 finish. It will likely reach 1300+ points by the end of its run.

OneRepublic holds at #5 with "Counting Stars. It became the group's first ever top 5 smash. It tallies 85 (+5) spins this week. The outcome of the song is much better looking than the group's previous charting single "If I Lose Myself" which peaked at #42 and dropped from the list just a few weeks after hitting the list. The group just won "Band of the Year" at this year's CDS Music Chart Awards.

Avicii moves 7-6 with "Wake Me Up (feat. Aloe Blacc)". It reached the top 10 in a very long 15 week span. Its most recent position pattern was 13-12-11-10-8-7-6. The song (which started off poorly) has built incredibly and moved up over 30 positions since debuting 16 weeks ago.

Rihanna bounds 10-7 with "What Now". It became the singer's 11th top 10 single last week. It also helped Rihanna set the record for "Most Top 10s (Non-Consecutive)" since the chart's 2012 launch. She previously tied Nicki Minaj's 10 top 10 singles when "The Monster" opened in the top 10. Nicki Minaj held the record for 18 months before returning the honor to Rihanna (Rihanna had 4 top 10s within the first month of the chart's inception). Despite this, it is Rihanna's lowest peaking top 10 hit so far.

Lady Gaga's "Venus" slides 6-8. It previously blasted 42-1 and quickly fell from the top of the chart. It slides to 70 spins this week. This is an incredible hold for the song which had a huge decline in week 3 and 4. It set multiple records including "Biggest Chart Move, "Biggest Jump to #1" (up 41 positions), and "Biggest Non-Opening Week Spins" beating "Applause" (106) and "Do What U Want (feat. R. Kelly)" (126).

Vita Chambers falls 8-9 with former #3 peaking "What If?". It slides to 69 spins (-4) this week. Her previous singles "Masquerade" and "Fix You" reached #2 and #1 respectively. The song should ride its way to a 800+ point finish. Vita just won the "Best New Artist" award at the CDS Music Chart Awards.

Avril Lavigne dips 9-10 with five time runner up song "Rock N Roll". It manages to score 68 spins (-4). The song's overall outcome is looking amazing. To date it has banked near 980 points and has held very well. It will easily rank within the top 10 of the year. It will also pass 1000 within the next week. To date it has spent 20 straight weeks in the top 10 after a #13 opening. This is approaching the record for "Most Weeks in the Top 10" which is currently held by 2 different Rihanna songs.

Right outside the top ten, Mia Martina shoots 30-15 with "Danse (feat. Dev)". It is heavily aided by the song's availability on iTunes starting this week and by the stream of people voting it as the "Best Song of the Week". It follows Mia's "La La..." as her 2nd straight top 15 hit. "La La..." is currently still charting and peaked at #4 for a single week.

Beyoncé opens at #25 with "Blow" and #30 with "Drunk In Love (feat. Jay Z)" based on 1 day of spins, which is about on par with the opening of "Roar" by Katy Perry.

Come back on Saturday for the chart!
