A Year Of Hits: The Losers (So Far)

We recently entered the Sweet 16 of our face off. During the first round 16 hits were wiped out. Here is a list of their rankings (out of 32) based on the percentage of votes they received during the face off. Below we will take a deeper look into which artists were close to the cut, and which ones completely bombed - Cough, cough Minaj.

(*=Peaked at #2 on our chart)

32nd Place - Starships by Nicki Minaj
31st Place - Automatic by Nicki Minaj
30th Place - Turn Me On (feat. Nicki Minaj) by David Guetta
29th Place - Don't Wake Me Up by Chris Brown*
28th Place - Good Time by Carly Rae Jepsen & Owl City*
27th Place - Love Somebody by Maroon 5
26th Place - There She Goes (feat. Pitbull) by Taio Cruz*
25th Place - Glad You Came by The Wanted
24th Place - My Heart Is Refusing Me by Loreen
23rd Place - Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye
22nd Place - Beautiful Sinner by Nicki Minaj
21st Place - Good Girl by Carrie Underwood*
20th Place - Finally Found You (feat. Sammy Adams) by Enrique Iglesias*
19th Place - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) by Kelly Clarkson
18th Place - Drive By by Train
17th Place - I Love It (feat. Charli XCX) by Icona Pop

What Happened?

All of Nicki's entries (4) bombed out, with "Beautiful Sinner" ranking the highest. The other three were (sadly) the bottom three. Part of the reason why each one failed is because they had some of the hardest competition. For example "Starships" battled Loreen's worldwide #1 single "Euphoria" and "Turn Me On (feat. Nicki Minaj)" was up against Maroon 5's Billboard 9 week runner "One More Night". In turn David Guetta landed "Titanium (feat. Sia)" into the Sweet 16, and the other artist with 4 entries (Rihanna) landed all of her entries.

Train's "Drive By" and Icona Pop's "I Love It (feat. Charli XCX)" were both EXTREMELY close to making the Sweet 16, but were edged out by bigger smashes "Titanium (feat. Sia)" by David Guetta and "We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)" by Rihanna.

Loreen had a mixed bag, as "My Heart Is Refusing Me" sunk low, while "Euphoria" creamed the competition with every single vote in its match up.
