Jason Derulo Comes Back Decent on "The Other Side"

We have been thinking about what food to relate Jason Derulo's "The Other Side" to. We just figured it out - cheese. The single fails to deliver a new side to him and is just overall very corny and cheesy. When you have to use "Sparks fly like the 4th of July" in your chorus, you know you should expect criticism. The whole song is just another bland piece of pop plastic over a looped beat. It is so typical and very predictable. The lyrics are so causal, that if you had never heard it before you would still know the next line. Unfortunately, Jason Derulo just gets worse every time he releases something. Literally. His 1st single "Whatcha Say" was amazing, his 2nd "In My Head" was pretty good, his 3rd "Ridin' Solo" was good, his 4th "Don't Wanna Go Home" was okay, his 5th "It Girl" was about the same, and now he is just so so.

Rating: 6/10
Bottom-Line: Just a little better than cheesy and passable; shouldn't have been placed on our "Most Anticipated Singles" list, but we guess it's bearable.
