Today I will be running through positions #60 through #51! Sit back, relax and enjoy!
60. "Glowing" by Nikki Williams
Peak: 11
Weeks On: 25
Points: 465
2012-2013/All Time Rank: 88
Certification: Gold
Last Year (2012):115 (+55)
Debuting just 3 weeks from the end of 2012, "Glowing" was pegged to have a great run on CDS Music. Unfortunately, all it did was descend from its opening position (#11). It was also compared to "Fix You" by Vita Chambers and was initially thought to have a similar run (though this was not the case).
59. "Ciao (Reload)" by Lollipop
Peak: 12
Weeks On: 20
Points: 472
2012-2013/All Time Rank: 113
Certification: Silver
Lollipop's return single became their first charting single (and only one released in the 2010s). They became the first Italian group to chart on the list and spawned this moderate success that really gave them my attention.
58. "The Way (feat. Mac Miller)" by Ariana Grande
Peak: 9
Weeks On: 20
Points: 479
2012-2013/All Time Rank: 112
Certification: Silver
Ariana's debut single was a major success in most countries and did really well on my chart as well. It was both Ariana's and Mac Miller's only single to reach the list. Grande's follow up, "Baby I", reached the Bubbling Under Chart but failed to reach the top 50.
57. "Wild (feat. Big Sean)" by Jessie J
Peak: 12
Weeks On: 20
Points: 486
2012-2013/All Time Rank: 110
Certification: Silver
After her top 10 hits "Silver Linings", "Domino" and "LaserLight", Jessie J returned to the top 50 with the lead single from her second studio album. It opened in the higher part of the top 20 but peaked on arrival. It lasted 20 weeks on the chart but failed to replicate the success of her previous entries (they all reached the top 10).
56. "Boomerang" by Nicole Scherzinger
Peak: 10
Weeks On: 20
Points: 489
2012-2013/All Time Rank: 109
Certification: Silver
As all comeback singles go, this one received lots of promotion. The music video was very visual and interesting and the song was pushed in the major UK market (Nicole was a judge on The X Factor UK). It set a record for the largest position change when it jumped 49-18. The record was later diminished when "Work B**ch" by Britney Spears leaped 42-12.
55. "Mirrors" by Justin Timberlake
Peak: 11
Weeks On: 21
Points: 492
2012-2013/All Time Rank: 107
Certification: Silver
After releasing the terrible "Suit & Tie" in January, Justin Timberlake returned with "Mirrors". I considered it a major step up from his previous effort. It later became his 1st charting single and ultimately peaked at #11 for a single week (many songs got stuck at #11 and #12 this year; a dozen).
54. "Walking On Air" by Katy Perry
Peak: 2
Weeks On: 12
Points: 503
2012-2013/All Time Rank: 106
Certification: Gold
After the good success of "Roar", and the moderate success of "Dark Horse" (#106 this year), Katy Perry returned with her highest peaking single to date. After just 3 months, it was able to rack up over 500 points and will ultimately wind up over 800 points by the end of its run.
Peak: 12
Weeks On: 19
Points: 519
2012-2013/All Time Rank: 103
Certification: Gold
After the #3 peaking "Dance Again" in 2012 (also with Pitbull), Ms. Lopez returned to the music scene with another Caribbean inspired thumper. Although failing to replicate the success of her previous charting song, "Live It Up" became a decent summer hit and became one of over a dozen songs to stall in the #11-#13 section of the chart.
52. "Right Now (feat. David Guetta)" by Rihanna
Peak: 3
Weeks On: 33
Points: 520
2012-2013/All Time Rank: 36
Certification: Gold
Last Year (2012): 68 (+16)
Though it only reached #52 on this year's "Hot 100 Year End", this song surpassed all other Unapologetic singles (other than "Diamonds") in terms of overall points. It ranks much lower on this year's list because it had a split year (unlike "Pour It Up" and "Stay").
51. "Just Give Me A Reason (feat. Nate Ruess)" by P!nk
Peak: 9
Weeks On: 20
Points: 520
2012-2013/All Time Rank: 36
Certification: Gold
Last Year (2012): 68 (+16)
P!nk makes her second and final appearance on this year's "Hot 100" list. The single peaked at #9 (the second lowest peaking song from P!nk) but quickly vanished from the list (when it began getting lots of promotion on United States radio).
Come back for part 6!
