"Just Desserts" Is Cold and Sweet

Marina and the Diamonds recently released a new single with the collaboration of Charli XCX. "Just Desserts", the dark and funky new track is perfectly sprinkled with bittersweet vocals and beats. The song is perfectly swirled (like an ice cream cone) and very different. Although not amazingly awesome upon first listen, the dark themes catch on quick and wrap you in an interesting dream. Expect it to chart this week!

Rating: 8/10

Bottom Line: Cold and dark, but quickly captivates audience.

Chart Highlights: Ellie Goulding Hits a High

Avril Lavigne's "Here's To Never Growing Up" continues its command at #1, by staying for a fourth consecutive week. Three weeks ago, the single became the 6th #1 debut in our chart's history. It gains in airplay for a third week, but doesn't have a major lead over the current #2 single.

Holding at #2 (for a fifth week) is Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray Dalton)". The song should easily top the tally as did its predecessor, but Avril's hit has been very unpredictable. The song has significantly gained in recent weeks, and might be able to dethrone the current champ next week. Until then...

Ellie Goulding lands her highest charting single with third top 5 hit "Figure 8" as it advances 4-3. Her other two top 5 singles both stopped at #4. She steadily rises with her other charting titles "I Need Your Love" and "Anything Could Happen", and is the biggest point gaining artist for a third consecutive week. "Anything Could Happen" moves 16-12, and could quite possibly reach the top 10 in the longest  stretch of time ever.

Sharon Doorson dips 3-4 with the number 3 peaking hit "Fail In Love". Could this be the song's quick ending, or will it manage to hold up?

Rihanna's Hip Hop/ R&B track "Pour It Up" revisits its peak position, as it rises 6-5. It follows 3 other top 5 singles from Rihanna's Unapologetic, and currently is the lowest peaking one.

Icona Pop's "I Love It (feat. Charli XCX)" dips 5-6 after commanding the list one month ago.

Demi Lovato holds at #7 for a second week with her second top 10 hit "Heart Attack".

NERVO's "Hold On" jumps 10-8 during its third week.

P!nk jumps 13-9 with her newest single "Just Give Me A Reason (feat. Nate Ruess). The single becomes her sixth consecutive top 10 after hitting #1, #5, #9 and #10 (twice) with the others.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis also claim the #10 position with four week #1 runner "Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz)". The single descends 8-6. It has spent 20 consecutive weeks in the top 10.

Carly Rae Jespen's "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" revisits its peak position, as it rises 12-11. It could be her third non-consecutive top 10 single after previously reaching #2 and #5 with songs last year.

As previously stated, Ellie Goulding's "Anything Could Happen" moves 16-12. If it reaches the top 10, it will have the "Longest Climb to the Top 10" record in the bag.

Below the upper tier, P!nk's "Try" blasts 25-16, and is the week's greatest gainer.
