Ke$ha officially released the remix of "Crazy Kids". Although the song was perfectly okay the way it was originally released, the remix brings somewhat of a new twist to the repeated lyrics. Some could argue that the added verse from will.i.am sounds off (which is true), but in some way it makes the song a whole lot better. Unfortunately, will.i.am's recent single "Fall Down" was constructed in a similar fashion, with a very similar beat. This could mean that will.i.am (producer of the original album version) doesn't have enough ideas to stay afloat, or that he just liked some aspects of "Crazy Kids" enough to recycle. Although it isn't an instant favorite, it is a grower, and the chorus is fairly catchy.
Bottom Line: Although controversial, song is very catchy, but still a tad down from Ke$ha's previous singles.
Rating: 7/10

Chart Highlights: Avril Lavigne Holds For 3rd Week; 2 New Top 10 Entries
The entire top 3 stays the same, but the rest of the top 10 is shifting around this week.
Avril Lavigne's "Here's To Never Growing Up" continues its command at #1, by staying for a third consecutive week. Two weeks ago, the single became the 6th #1 debut in our chart's history. It significantly gains in airplay for a second week, unlike most powerhouse debuts in their junior (3rd) week.
Holding at #2 (for a fourth week) is Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray Dalton)". The song should easily top the tally as did its predecessor, but Avril's hit has been very unpredictable.
Sharon Doorson holds at #3 with hit single "Fail In Love".
Ellie Goulding lands her third top 5 hit with "Figure 8" as it blasts 9-4. Her other two top 5 singles also peaked at #4. She congruently rises with her other charting titles "I Need Your Love" and "Anything Could Happen", and is the biggest point gaining artist for a second consecutive week. "Anything Could Happen" could make history if it eventually reaches the top 10 (very likely), with the "Longest Climb to Top 10".
Icona Pop's "I Love It (feat. Charli XCX)" dips 4-5 after commanding the list three weeks ago. The song has had one of the quickest tumbles in chart history, as it has reached the top 10, peaked at #1, and is already heading down the list in just a 10 week lifespan.
Rihanna dips 5-6 with Hip Hop/ R&B track "Pour It Up". Although it dips one position, the single was significantly up in airplay. "Figure 8" is the main reason for its descend. The single became her ninth top 5 hit last week, when it spiked 10-5.
Demi Lovato skips ahead of Carly Rae Jespen for the first time in their 9 week runs. She moves 12-7 with "Heart Attack". The single becomes her second consecutive top 10 single after "Give Your Heart A Break".
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis also claim the #8 position with four week #1 runner "Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz)". The single descends 6-8.
Vita Chambers dips 8-9 with debut hit "Fix You". As of this week, the single has spent 20 consecutive weeks in the chart's top 10. This is just 2 weeks from tying the current record set by Rihanna's "Diamonds (Shahaf Moran Remix)", and 3 from breaking it.
Rounding out the top 10 is last week's top debut. NERVO's "Hold On" whizzes past Carly Rae Jepsen for the last top 10 slot. The song jumps 14-10.

Ciara Has A Mess
After releasing three singles, teasing a track-list, and making her new album available for a discounted pre-order on iTunes, Ciara clearly has a mess. Due to their poor commercial success, singles "Sorry" and "Got Me Good" have been cut from the new album. Originally called One Woman Army, the highly anticipated album is now called Ciara. The revised iTunes edition track-list shows 11 songs (one has been unnamed), and it is due for a July 2013 release. We are disappointed with the majority of her plans for the album, mainly due to the fact that she has cut several of her best songs.
A Year of Hits: Vote in the Semifinals!
We are celebrating our 1st Anniversary, and we thought what better way to kick it off than a competition! The original bracket included all 27 number #1 hits that our chart has had (including lost charts) and 5 lucky #2 singles, for a total of 32 competitors. After voting for round 1 ended on Tuesday night, we reduced our bracket to 16. It decreased to 8 songs, also known as our Quarterfinals. Now there are only four songs left. The bracket will continue to decrease, until we are left with one winner! Voting for round four starts below, and will end on Monday night at 9:00PM PST. Chart Highlights: Avril Stays At Atop, Ellie Goulding Gains
Avril Lavigne's "Here's To Never Growing Up" continues its command at #1, by staying for a second consecutive week. Last week, the single became the 6th #1 debut in our chart's history. It significantly gains in airplay, unlike most powerhouse debuts do in their sophomore weeks.
Holding at #2 (for a third week) is Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray Dalton)". The song should easily top the tally as did its predecessor, but Avril's hit has been very unpredictable.
Sharon Doorson rises 4-3 with hit single "Fail In Love".
Icona Pop's "I Love It (feat. Charli XCX)" dips 3-4 after commending the list two weeks ago. The song has had one of the quickest tumbles in chart history, as it has reached the top 10, peaked at #1, and is already heading down the list in just a 9 week lifespan.
Rihanna races 10-5 with Hip Hop/ R&B track "Pour It Up". The single becomes her ninth top 5 hit.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis also claim the #6 position with four week #1 runner "Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz)". The single descends 5-6.
Cascada dips 6-7 with Eurovision entry "Glorious".
Vita Chambers dips 7-8 with debut hit "Fix You". As of this week, the single has spent 19 consecutive weeks in the chart's top 10. This is just 3 weeks from tying the current record set by Rihanna's "Diamonds (Shahaf Moran Remix)", and 4 from breaking it.
Ellie Goulding lands her third top 10 hit with "Figure 8" as it ascends 11-9. She congruently rises with her other charting titles "I Need Your Love" and "Anything Could Happen", and is the biggest point gaining artist this week.
After netting the group its 7th consecutive top 5 hit, Maroon 5's "Daylight" drops 9-10 to round out the upper tier. It followed the group's "Moves Like Jagger (feat. Christina Aguilera)" which peaked at #5, "Payphone (feat. Wiz Khalifa)" which peaked at #1(x4), "One More Night"which peaked at #1, "Love Somebody" which peaked at #1, "Lucky Strike" which peaked at #3, and "Doin' Dirt"which peaked at #5.
Below the top 10, Nervo's "Hold On" leads the band of debuts with the highest entry.

Lady Antebellum Return To Their Roots With "Goodbye Town"
Lady Antebellum return to their soft and sugary country style roots on new single "Goodbye Town". Although prepared in the same stlye as their previous country hits, the single is very pleasing in a new creative way, and has a soft and soothing touch. It is a major departure from previous pop infused single "Downtown". It will likely be a major country radio smash, and could even chart on our top 50 list. With use of little to no autotune and emotinal lyrical content, the song carries listeners away in a breeze of the past. It is very calming, soothing and overall a perfect song for any situation.
Rating: 8/10
Bottom-Line: Pretty good second single; worth the listen, and a sure contry hit.

Tanya Lacey Sparkles On "Gone"
Tanya Lacey aka the United Kingdom's hidden star just recently dropped the music video for her new single "Now That You're Gone", and put it up for pre-order on iTunes. All we have to say is that she definitely sparkles on her new track. The chorus is hooking, most of the lyrics are good (except "You'll be fine/I know that you got no spine") and it is different. Tanya has a completely captivating voice that is unique and perfect. Although she sounds nothing like Kelly Clarkson, we can't help but feel that Tanya drew some inspiration from Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone", and transformed it into her own emotional thing. An amazing gem that should not go unnoticed. One of the best new songs we have heard.
Rating: 8.5/10
Bottom-Line: Worth the listen; amazingly great; get your iTunes cards ready and mark your calendars for its release on May 29th!

Jason Derulo Comes Back Decent on "The Other Side"
We have been thinking about what food to relate Jason Derulo's "The Other Side" to. We just figured it out - cheese. The single fails to deliver a new side to him and is just overall very corny and cheesy. When you have to use "Sparks fly like the 4th of July" in your chorus, you know you should expect criticism. The whole song is just another bland piece of pop plastic over a looped beat. It is so typical and very predictable. The lyrics are so causal, that if you had never heard it before you would still know the next line. Unfortunately, Jason Derulo just gets worse every time he releases something. Literally. His 1st single "Whatcha Say" was amazing, his 2nd "In My Head" was pretty good, his 3rd "Ridin' Solo" was good, his 4th "Don't Wanna Go Home" was okay, his 5th "It Girl" was about the same, and now he is just so so.
Rating: 6/10
Bottom-Line: Just a little better than cheesy and passable; shouldn't have been placed on our "Most Anticipated Singles" list, but we guess it's bearable.

will.i.am Picks Himself Up (A Little)
Earlier this morning, will.i.am dropped his Miley
Cyrus assisted new single called "Fall Down". Although it is somewhat
of a creepy and ridiculous song, it is actually a step up from previous works
like "#ThatPower" (honestly a hashtag?) and "Scream and
Shout". What we mean by creepy is the lyrics in the first verse. will.i.am
tries to rap: "You can be my lollipop, lemme, lemme lick you up/On the
bottom, on the top, baby, lemme flip you up/You can be my soda pop, Coca Cola
sip it up/Whip cream, whip it up, strip on, zip it up/I could be your chip, you
can be my dip, lemme dip it up". In our opinion, that there is just a
disgusting mess and he only gets brownie points for promoting Coca Cola (and
not Pepsi). Although the whole song is pretty much garbage, it is much better
than his other failed collaborations.
Rating: 4.5/10 ("#ThatPower" would
have received 1, and "Scream and Shout" would have received
a 3)
Bottom Line: Better Than Old will.i.am; Still not
so good

Ellie Goulding Misses Top 10 This Week
Ellie Goluding's "Figure 8" misses the top 10...again. During the song's 16th week, Rihanna's "Pour It Up" outpaced it and eventually reached #10. It was a very close race, and Ellie ranks #11 this week (up 23% from last week). Will Ellie reach the top 10 in week 17? or will something unexpected happen?
Becky G Offers Well-Rounded Debut; Samples J.LO
Earlier this week newcomer Becky G dropped the
music video for her Jennifer Lopez inspired first single called "Becky
From the Block". Title sound familiar? It samples the chorus of Jennifer
Lopez's "Jenny From the Block". The carefully crafted single has a
latin vibe with several rap verses depicting Becky G's life before and after
her rise to fame. The single hits a high point when she raps the lines "If
you wanna date me, you gotta ask my Daddy/And my 30 uncles, you can meet them
in an alley". Toward the end she even starts to sing. The song offers
almost everything you could want: Latin vibes, Pop, Rap, and a true story.
Rating: 7.5
Bottom-Line: A great debut, but could have
used a more original chorus. Worth the listen.
How It Works: Weekly Ribbons
As some of you have noticed on each weekly chart we award "ribbons" to songs that stand out in certain measured categories. Each one serves a purpose, and for those of you wanting to know a little more, we have created a list of all of these ribbons and when they can be awarded.
Hot Shot Debut
The "Hot Shot Debut" ribbon is awarded to the highest new entry on the chart. Since a song can only debut once, the song that holds this ribbon switches each week.
CDS Pick Hit
The "CDS Pick Hit" can be awarded to any song that has not yet reached the top 20. It can be awarded multiple times to the same song, and is our pick of which song we think could be a hit.
Greatest Gainer
The "Greatest Gainer" is awarded to the song that overall has the biggest jump upwards on the chart from one week to the next. It can be awarded multiple times to the same song, but often isn't.
Airplay Gainer
Many people get this ribbon confused with the "Greatest Gainer" ribbon, and although one song can claim both of them, they are very different. The "Airplay Gainer" ribbon isn't necessarily awarded to the biggest jumper, but to the biggest airplay jumper. For example a song that moves 9-5 could get the "Airplay" ribbon because it was up 20 plays from last week, while a song that gets the "Greatest Gainer" and moves 49-35 might only have to increase by 10 plays to reach that rank.
Biggest Free-Faller
This ribbon is an anti-award. The "Biggest Free-Faller" ribbon is awarded to the song that falls the most based on position from week to week.
Chart Sitter
Awarded to the song that has remained on the chart longer than any other song. When that song falls off, it is awarded again. If two songs are tied for most amount of weeks on the chart, the "Chart Sitter" ribbon goes to the one that is at a higher rank for that week.
Biggest Comeback
Only awarded when multiple songs return to the chart. The "Biggest Comeback" ribbon goes to the highest re-entry (based on position for that week).
Number 1
The "Number 1" ribbon is awarded to the current song occupying the #1 position.
Longest Climb to Top (5, 10 or Both)
Recognizes the song that took the longest to reach each milestone on the chart.
Most Weeks in Top (5, 10 or Both)
Recognizes the song that spent the most weeks in each section of the chart.
Other milestones can be viewed on the "Chart Achievements" page of our website.

Chart Highlights: Avril Lavigne Debuts Atop Tally; Sharoon Doorson Scoops Up a Hit
After a grueling week, Avril Lavigne's "Here's To Never Growing Up" debuts at #1 off a stellar 73 play start. The single claims the biggest debut since Maroon 5 launched into #1 with 82 plays on the April 19th, 2012 chart, exactly one year ago. Additionally, it is just the 6th song to debut at #1 in our history.
Holding at #2 is Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray Dalton)". The song claims the "Airplay Gainer" tag for a fourth week. It is a possible contender for #1 in a few weeks, but could be denied a penthouse position if Avril holds on to the momentum.
Icona Pop's "I Love It (feat. Charli XCX)" is up 15%, but Avril and Macklemore still manage to top it, denying the song a second week atop the tally. The single descends 1-3.
Sharon Doorson flies 10-4 with debut single "Fail In Love".
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis also claim the #5 position with four week #1 runner "Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz)". The single descends 3-5.
Cascada continues rising with Eurovision entry, and 2nd consecutive top 10 single "Glorious". The single advances 7-6, fueled by airplay gains.
Vita Chambers dips 6-7 with debut hit "Fix You". As of this week, the single has spent 18 consecutive weeks in the chart's top 10. This is just 4 weeks from tying the current record set by Rihanna's "Diamonds (Shahaf Moran Remix)", and 5 from breaking it.
Taylor Swift plunges 4-8 with "I Knew You Were Trouble" during the song's 21st week on the chart.
After netting the group its 7th consecutive top 5 hit, Maroon 5's "Daylight" drops 5-9.
Rounding out the top 10 is Rihanna's 9th top 10 hit "Pour It Up". After 3 months of climbing, the single finally made the upper tier. This is Rihanna's slowest reach to the top 10, as most of her songs debut around or inside the top 10 to begin with.

Report: Avril Lavigne WILL Dent Top 5 With New Single; Maybe Even #1
Avril Lavigne's newest release "Here's To Never Growing Up" is heating up to our airplay list at a faster pace than expected. In just two and a half days of airplay (Tuesday-Wednesday and part of Thursday), Avril's single has racked up an amazing 63 plays. This is up 11% from the total plays that yesterday's airplay leader "Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray Dalton)" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis has racked, and up 26% from the total plays that last week's top airplay title "I Love It (feat. Charli XCX)" by Icona Pop has racked. Avril's next biggest competitor (and last week's "Hot Shot Debut") "Fail In Love" by Sharon Doorson is hovering at position 5 and is has racked 48% less plays.
If Avril ranks #1 for Thursday (and maintains her pace on Friday), "Here's To Never Growing Up" could become just the 6th single to debut at #1 on the official chart. Please note this is not reflective of the final tally, and all titles could shift by tomorrow night.
As always, come back tomorrow (Friday) for the official Chart Highlights!
PSY Flops; New Single "Gentleman" Fails to Out-Deliver Gangnam
When Korean superstar PSY announced the release of a new single called "Gentleman", we were slightly excited to see what new hit he would cook up. When the single leaked earlier today, we were extremely disappointed with the results. "Gentleman" fails to reach anywhere near the success of "Gangnam Style". The sound is off, the beat isn't amazing and the lyrics are just a jumbled mess. We weren't super happy with "Gangnam Style" to begin with, so in our opinion this new song is a random, trashy shot in the dark. The real question is: "Why is it so bad?" Our guess is PSY didn't have enough ideas to save the song when he announced he was retitling it and reworking it so that it wouldn't offend people of the Arab world.
Bottom-Line: A flop; major waste of time; a horrible miss; not worth the listen.
Rating: 2/10

What's Next For Our Canadian Superstar Vita Chambers?
After releasing her chart topping debut single "Fix You", scooping up 3 CDS Music Chart Awards, being nominated for a JUNO Award, and hitting the Canadian Hot 100, what is next for Canadian superstar Vita Chambers?
Everything!
As she travels from venue to venue, Vita is scoring an assortment of new fans and her single is rising in popularity, after every amazing performance. Just recently she added over 40 thousand new twitter fans, and "Fix You" has peaked at #69 in Canada (so far).
Additionally on several occasions she has teased the release of a new single (DROP IT NOW PLEASE!) by posting new lyrics, asking fans for inspiration and even revealing that is almost finished.
Hopefully this young and talented star will take off and become a major success!

Nervo Wants To Hold On
NERVO officially released new single "Hold On" this tuesday to the iTunes store. We happen to very much enjoy it, but it (like other dance songs) has a limited amount of vocals and what is included is minimal and almost whispered. Hopefully it can be the group's first charting single next week and first smash single. We will keep you updated!
Rating: 7.5/10
Bottom-Line: Takes a while to grow on people, but worth the listen.

Avril Lavigne Doesn't Wanna Grow Up!
Avril Lavigne really doesn't wanna grow up! Earlier today she dropped her new single titled "Here's To Never Growing Up" from her upcoming 5th studio album. Although some critics have critically panned the single for sounding just like "Complicated". We totally disagree and think that the song could have some serious potential. Others say it's too much like Ke$ha. We again disagree. The song is very catchy and has a P!nk/ Old Avril vibe that we just love! See its debut on next week's chart!
Rating: 9.5/10
Bottom-Line: Great, well rounded comeback we expect to hear in every car! It will chart!
Should Avril Lavigne Grow Up? She could, but she wouldn't be the same.

Sharon Doorson Expected to Explode In Sophomore Week
Last week's newcomer artist Sharon Doorson is expected to impact the top 10 again next week, at an even bigger rate. Within three full days (Saturday-Monday) of second week airplay, the single has racked up enough airplay points to come in 6th place. Please note this is not reflective of the final tally, and the single could ascend or descend in the coming days. All current signs point to a top 3 ranking if the single continues at its current pace. On Saturday it ranked #9, Sunday it ranked #7, and #6 on Monday. Although Tuesday airplay stats are not yet final, the single will likely rank either 5th or 6th. We will keep you updated, and look out for new music from Sharon Doorson including her new single "High On Your Love" (currently ranking #38 on the airplay chart as of Monday night)!

Selena Gomez Falls Flat; 5 Reasons Why Her New Single Doesn't Match the Hype
Everyone knows that Selena Gomez is trying to have a successful solo career. She has teased trailers, announced a MTV performance and starred in movies to promote herself and her music. After recently releasing her new single "Come and Get It" we are a little disappointed. For a little over a month she has heavily hyped her newest single, and we can't seem to get over the fact that it is a little disappointing. The single has a heavy tribal influence and the beat is't as crazy as she said it would be.
We believe that the following could be reasons as to why the single doesn't match the hype it has received.
1. Tribal Beat With No Breakdown
2. Repeat of Many Words
3. Short and Cheesy Chorus
4. Beats Cover Vocals
5. Unlike Previous Recordings
Rating: 2/10
Bottom-Line: Overproduced and downright dumb. Don't expect it to chart.

10. Come and Get It by Selena Gomez

Hopefully this new single can replicate the success of Selena's previous hits. Although we want something good, we have a feeling this single might not live up to the hype it has received. We were right! We hate the song! Doesn't live up to the hype it has received from people including Selena herself!
