Watch: CDS Music Chart Hot 50 (July 17th, 2014)
Prefer to watch the Hot 50? That's totally cool in my book! You can watch this week's full Hot 50 video above or you can read the chart (or do both). I've attached the chart highlights to this post as a reference point.
Jess Glynne's "Right Here" opens at #52, barely missing the chart's Hot 50 portion. It is set to reach the Hot 50 on the July 24th chart. If it does reach the chart, it will become Glynne's third top 50 single. It follows her stints on Route 94's "My Love" and Clean Bandit's top 5 single "Rather Be", which has become one of the most successful singles of 2014 to date.

They also guest produced the official remix of Usher's "Good Kisser", which failed to chart until the release of the re-worked edition (the revised edition enters at #46 this week as Usher's 4th top 50 entry and first since 2012's #37 peaking "Euphoria").

Rixton debuts at #33 with "Me and My Broken Heart" after over two month (10 weeks) of bouncing around on the On The Bubble chart. So how did Rixton come to finally debut on the Hot 50? Mainly because of the track's growth on US Pop Radio (currently #13 on Radio according to Billboard). Additionally, the controversy surrounding the track (with reports that its a copy of a Maroon 5 song) has really hyped it up, causing it to land on the Hot 50 for the first time.

"Boom Clap" becomes Charli XCX's first ever charting song as a solo artist as it enters at #33 this week (3rd charter including guest features). Bouncing by 32 points to 58, "Clap" is this week's Streaming Gainer, a component that had been retired. It returns this week, as I change the definition of "Airplay" slightly. The "Airplay Gainer" is the track that jumped a bunch this week thanks to plays that I listened to on US radio. "Streaming Gainer" means that I played the track more frequently through digital platforms and/or watched the song's official video (5 extra automatic points).
