Chart Highlights: OneRepublic, Ke$ha + Avicii Hit Top 10

Lady Gaga rises 2-1 with "Do What U Want (feat. R. Kelly)" sporting a major increase to 96 plays (+10). This helps the track easily reclaim the #1 position. It also becomes the first track to return to #1 in a third separate run. To date it has spent 3 non-consecutive weeks perched in the top position of the chart. The performance on SNL helped the song experience a boost, while the performance on the AMAs should be able boost the song yet again. It will likely spend another week at #1 next week. Lady Gaga just won 4 awards at this year's CDS Music Chart Awards.

After spending an 11th non-consecutive week at #1, Lady Gaga's "Applause" slides 1-2. It experienced a 2 spin dip (88).The song is off to a great streak and should be able to reach platinum status in its 21st week (to date it has reached about 750 points). It will likely finish with a strong 980+ points by the end of the year (due to the added week of January 2nd, 2014 as part of the 2013 year). It will likely reach 1300+ points by the end of its run.

"The Monster (feat. Rihanna)" by Eminem bounds 5-3 fueled by an increase to 86 spins (+5). It is Rihanna's 10th top 10 hit and could possibly be her 5th #1 single if it reaches the top position. It is also Eminem's best performing single (beating "Berzerk" in week #1). "Berzerk" reached #9 in its 10th week while "The Monster (feat. Rihanna)" opened at #8. This single just won the "Best Collaboration" award at the CDS Music Chart Awards, while "Berzerk" scooped "Best Rap Recording".

Lady Gaga's "Venus" holds tight at #4. It previously blasted 42-1 and quickly fell from the top of the chart. It slides to 80 spins this week. This is an incredible hold for the song which had a huge decline in week 3 and 4. It set multiple records including "Biggest Chart Move, "Biggest Jump to #1" (up 41 positions), and "Biggest Non-Opening Week Spins" beating "Applause" (106) and "Do What U Want (feat. R. Kelly)" (126).

Vita Chambers rises 6-5 with former #3 peaking "What If?". It rises to 78 spins (+3) this week. Despite being an increase, this is not the song's reason for an increase in position. Its rise is fueled by the tumble of "Mary Jane Holland" from its #3 peak position. This rise also helps Vita Chambers claim another great week. Her previous singles "Masquerade" and "Fix You" reached #2 and #1 respectively. The song should ride its way to a 800+ point finish. Vita just won the "Best New Artist" award at the CDS Music Chart Awards.

Avril Lavigne slides rebounds 7-6 with five time runner up song "Rock N Roll". It manages to score 74 spins (even). The song's overall outcome is looking fairly good. To date it has banked near 800 points and has held very well. It should go on to match it predecessor's 968 point sum. If it continues holding, it could also be on target for a top 10 of 2013 finish. If it ranks higher than position #9 for every week through the year's end, it could bank 1000 points (give or take a few points). To date it has spent 17 straight weeks in the top after a #13 opening. This is approaching the record for "Most Weeks in the Top 10" which is currently held by 2 different Rihanna songs.

OneRepublic shoots for the 'stars', as "Counting Stars" becomes the group's first ever top 10 smash. It blasts 12-7 this week with 72 spins this week. The outcome of the song is much better looking than the group's previous charting single "If I Lose Myself" which peaked at #42 and dropped from the list just a few weeks after hitting the list. The group just won "Band of the Year" at this year's CDS Music Chart Awards.

Pitbull reaches the top 10 with "Timber (feat. Ke$ha)" as it flies 15-8. It is this week's "Airplay Gainer". It should have yet another strong week and should benefit heavily from the release of the music video, the performance of the song at the AMAs and the release of its parent album Meltdown EP. This easily beats all other Pitbull songs to grace the list and is behind only two Ke$ha songs to reach the list (in terms of peak position). "Die Young" reached #3 around the same time last year while "C'mon" peaked at #7 in early January 2013.

Lady Gaga dives 3-9 with "Mary Jane Holland". This is one of the biggest drops within the top 10 (-6). The song's overall prospects are completely up in the air and it really depends whether or not it continues to drop from the list. It previously opened at #5 just two weeks ago as the chart's "Hot Shot Debut". It is Lady Gaga's biggest non #1 hit.

Avicii inches 11-10 with "Wake Me Up (feat. Aloe Blacc)". It has reached the top 10 in a very long 15 week span. Its most recent position pattern was 13-12-11-10. The song (which started off poorly) has built incredibly and moved up over 30 positions since debuting 14 weeks ago.

Right outside the top 10, Rihanna bounds 25-12 as this week's greatest gainer with her 12th top 20 hit "What Now". If it reaches the top 10, there is a high likelyhood that the song will peak in the top 5 as all of her 10 top 10 singles have reached a peak position of 5 or higher including 4 of which that reached #1.

Demi Lovato opens at #20 with "Neon Lights". This marks her best opening in history. It will likely reach the top 10 as her entire charting discography (despite only having 2 other charting songs) has peaked within the top 10. "Heart Attack" most recently peaked at #7 earlier this year.

Come back for the chart tonight!
