Vote For Your Favorites of the Week (Week 21)!

Hot New Track This Week:

"Warriors"
Imagine Dragons
From the forthcoming 2nd studio album by Imagine Dragons (Title TBA)
Release: September 18th

Thoughts: Imagine Dragons have made my list a total of 3 times (with "It's Time", "Radioactive", and "Demons"), but only one of their releases became a decent sized hit on the CDS Music Chart Hot 50. Now, with "Warriors" leading off the group's 2nd studio album, they have a chance to chart again.

This new sound is similar to that of what we heard on "Radioactive" (the group's best performing CDS Music Chart Hot 50 single), but it feels a bit darker. There's lots of raised voices, emotions and an overly rock vibe, which is similar yet different compared to their earlier work. I can't tell if I like it as much as their other stuff, but it is still decent.

Now you be the judge. Does "Warriors" have what it takes to debut on the Hot 50? If yes, vote it up, if no, vote down.

Last Week's Outcome: There was no voting last week. Sorry!

New Entries:
"Warriors" by Imagine Dragons
- "i" by Kendrick Lamar
- "Burnin' Up (feat. 2 Chainz)" by Jessie J
- "No Enemiesz" by Kiesza
- "Therapy" by Mary J. Blige
- "Whole Damn Year" by Mary J. Blige
- "Take Ü There (feat. Kiesza)" by Jack Ü

Note: The final positions of the songs at the end of the week is equivalent to the Social Songs 100 chart. This is only accounts for approximately 1/3 of all points entered into the Hot 50 weekly issue.

Hey guys! There have been some concerns and questions on voting for your favorite tracks every week. To make things a whole lot easier, you can now vote songs up and down the list. At the end of the week, the points will be calculated and the ranker will be reset for the next week! All votes count! Don't see your favorite song? Feel free to leave a comment and I will add it! I will be updating the ranker from time to time as new tracks become available!

Welcome to the 21st week of voting! Your votes help determine the top songs on the CDS Music Chart Hot 50. Please note that only the top 10 most approved tracks will receive bonus points toward their scores on the upcoming chart. Make sure you share this to get your favorite tracks into the top 10. If this gets 250 voters and/or 5,000 votes by the end of Friday, each track in the top 10 will get 2x the regular votes and #11-20 on the list will get the score that the top 10 usually gets.

Mary J. Blige Drops Disclosure Produced, Sam Smith Penned "Right Now"

Mary J. Blige drops one of her best singles, notes "The UK is a better place to make music than the US". She's absolutely correct.

While Mary J. Blige might be the undisputed Queen of R&B, she's been struggling with producing a smash single for several years now. In fact, her last big hit came in early 2008 (from her 2007 album Growing Pains). Even that single, "Just Fine", failed to become much of a memorable hit as well. Since then, she's released four more studio albums: 2009's Stronger With Every Tear, 2011's My Life II... The Journey Continues (Act 1), 2013's A Mary Christmas, and 2014's Think Like A Man Too (Music from and Inspired by the Film), all but the last of which became strong sellers. Still, none of those albums ended up producing any top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 or Hot 50 singles on the CDS Music Chart Hot 50.

To seemingly make up for the lack of successful singles, Mary J. Blige has quickly released "Right Now" as the lead single from her forthcoming 13th studio album, Mary J. Blige: The London Sessions, due out this November. The album will contain exactly 10 songs, all of which were written and recorded in London across the summer of this year.

"Right Now" was produced by Disclosure and co-written by both Jimmy Napes and Sam Smith. Other collaborators include Naughty Boy and Emeli Sandé on the track called "Pick Me Up". Jimmy Napes and Sam Smith collaborated with Blige yet again, on another track called "Therapy". The other  7 tracks on the album have yet to be announced.

"Right Now" will be released sometime this month as a single on iTunes.

Listen to "Right Now" on YouTube below, and let me know if you like the track in the comments below.

Watch: CDS Music Chart Hot 50 (July 10th, 2014)

Prefer to watch the Hot 50? That's totally cool in my book! You can watch this week's full Hot 50 video above or you can read the chart (or do both). I've attached the chart highlights to this post as a reference point.

Disclosure's remixed collaboration with Mary J Blige ("F For You") finally reaches the Hot 50, as it enters at #48 to become the UK act's second entry as a lead artist (their Sam Smith collaboration, "Latch", peaked at #3 and rebounds 14-11 this week). They also guest produced the official remix of Usher's "Good Kisser", which failed to chart until the release of the re-worked edition (the revised edition enters at #46 this week as Usher's 4th top 50 entry and first since 2012's #37 peaking "Euphoria").

Forecast: Chris Brown, Usher, T.I. and More Headed For Hot 50 Debuts

New Entries & High Climbers
Following his performance of "Loyal (feat. Lil Wayne & Tyga)" at the 2014 BET Awards, Chris Brown dropped his latest single "New Flame (feat. Usher & Rick Ross)" on iTunes right afterwards. The track is actually pretty hot, delivering much more than expected. "New Flame" is expected to debut within the top 40, but just barely. Still, that would automatically place "New Flame" above "Loyal" (which spent just two weeks on the chart at lower positions). I'm expecting a #41 debut for the track.

Route 94's "My Love (feat. Jess Glynne)" (which ranked at #51 last week) should debut between positions 41 through 50. If it does debut at the end of this week, it'll mark Jess Glynne's second top 50 appearance, as well as Route 94's first week of charting (his first appearance).

Thanks to the recent release of a highly successful and accessible remix courtesy of Disclosure, Usher's "Good Kisser" should become the veteran singer's 3rd single to reach the chart. 2012's "Scream" previously reached as high as #3 and remained on the list for 15 weeks (back when the chart was only 40 positions long) and Looking 4 Myself album track "Euphoria" reached the edge of the chart (when it was only 40 positions long) near the end of 2012. The track should reach just right into the top 40. A #37 debut is a good estimate.

T.I.'s "No Mediocre (feat. Iggy Azalea)" should barely crack the list, with a #50 start possible. Disclosure's "F For You (feat. Mary J Blige)" is in a similar predicament this week with a start between 45 and 50 highly likely.

Finally, Tinashe's debut single "2 On (feat. SchoolBoy Q)" should arrive as the highest debut of the week. A start north of 40 is extremely likely. Usher's "Good Kisser" should be the next highest debut.

Tracks Likely To Exit
- "Team" by Lorde
- "Counting Stars" by OneRepublic
- "XO" by Beyoncé
- "Not A Bad Thing" by Justin Timberlake
- "The Man" by Ed Sheeran
- "Midnight" by Coldplay

Top 5 Happenings
Maroon 5's "Maps" should take either second or third place this week, with Kiesza's "Hideaway" should land in 1st place for a total of 7 non consecutive weeks at #1. Sanna Nielsen's "Undo" should wind up in second or third place, ending its 3 week run at #1. Kiesza's "Giant In My Heart" and Clean Bandit's "Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne)" should fight for the final top 5 positions (4 and 5).
