Chart Highlights: Röyksopp & Robyn, Alyssa Reid Reach Top 10

Meanwhile, Iggy Azalea's "Black Widow" pushes 38-26 as the Hot 50's Greatest Gainer, Ella Henderson's "Glow" snags top debut, and Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda" dives 29-41.

The Hot 50 chart is counts points from Saturday to Friday and is formulated using the following:
  • Official US Radio plays that I listen to count as 1 point each. Referred to as the Radio Songs Chart.
  • Plays through my iTunes or Spotify (mainly the former) libraries count as 2 points each. If the track is not available to purchase at a given moment, plays of the track's official audio on Youtube or Soundcloud also count for 2 points each. Referred to as the Streaming Songs Chart.
  • The release of a track's official music video sees the song in question receive a one time bonus of 5 points if I watch the video within its first two weeks of release. If a song first charts over two weeks after the video's release, it is eligible to get the five point bonus within its first two weeks of charting. There is no component chart for this category given that it awards a one time bonus.
  • The top 10 most voted for songs on the "Vote For Your Favorites of the Week" chart receive points. #1 gets 10 points, #2 gets 9 and so on and so forth. If voting reaches a certain threshold during any given week, the 2x multiplier will be unlocked. If the 2x multiplier is unlocked, #1 gets 20 points (instead of 10), #2 gets 19 points (instead of 9) so on and so forth. #11 gets 10 points (instead of none), and #20 gets 1 point (instead of none). Referred to as the Social Songs 100 Chart.
As I do every weekend, let's dive deeper into the numbers and how things played out on this week's Hot 50 chart. But before we get into that, I'd like to point out that it will be impossible for any song to pass Platinum status (1000+ points) by the end of 2014. In addition, said song would pretty much have to remain in the top 5 for the next 20 weeks to reach that level.

For those of you that are not aware of how the point system works:

The #1 song each week receives 50 base points and a weekly bonus. #2 receives 49 points and a bonus and so on and so forth. #50 receives 1 point and a bonus. The bonus is determined by how many weeks a track is listed on the Hot 50. In week #1, any given track will receive .01 extra points, regardless of position. In week #2, they'll receive .02 and so on and so forth until they end their chart run.

As another note, the Summer Songs Competition will run for another 3 weeks (ending with the Hot 50 issue dated September 11th). The top 40 Summer Songs will be revealed in a special post on September 7th, so get ready!

Maroon 5's "It Was Always You" holds at #1 for a second consecutive week, breaking a 3 way tie for third place among all time longest reigns at #1 for a Maroon 5 song. It now just holds third place by itself, while "Love Somebody" and "One More Night" both fall into 4th place. With this week at #1, Maroon 5 becomes the only artist to hold the #1 position for more than 6 weeks in 2014. Additionally, they log a 13th overall week at the summit since the chart's 2012 inception. These 13 weeks are of course spread across 5 #1's (which ties Rihanna's sum of 5 as the most for any artist or group). Among all acts, Maroon 5 ranks 3rd for most overall weeks at the summit behind Rihanna's record 20 and Lady Gaga's 18 (all of which came consecutively at the tail end of 2013).

Here's a quick look at Maroon 5's #1 reigns on the Hot 50 since its 2012 inception. The bolded track is the current leader ("It Was Always You").

Weeks - Title - Start of Reign
5 Weeks at #1 - "Maps" - July 10th, 2014
4 Weeks at #1 - "Payphone (feat. Wiz Khalifa)" - April 19th, 2012
2 Week at #1 - "It Was Always You" - August 14th, 2014
1 Week at #1 - "Love Somebody" - September 20th, 2012
1 Week at #1 - "One More Night" - September 13th, 2012

Back to "It Was Always You", the track posts across the board gains on the Streaming Songs chart and the Radio Songs chart. It holds 2-2 on the Streaming Songs chart (behind Kiesza's "Hideaway" which holds the top slot for a record 16th consecutive week) with a 6% gain, jumps 4-1 on Radio Songs but unfortunately dips 14-37 on the Social Songs 100. The cut holds at #1 on the Pop Songs list for the second consecutive week as well as on the subsidiary Adult Pop Songs and Adult Songs lists.

Kiesza's "Hideaway" holds 2-2 on the Hot 50, tallying a 10th consecutive week in the runner up slot (after leading the list for 6 weeks beginning in early May). With 10 weeks in the runner up slot, the track breaks a tie with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray Dalton)" to become the song with the most amount of weeks in the position. The honor of the longest time spent in the second place slot is still bestowed upon OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" which wrapped an 11 week run in the slot back in early 2014.

In addition to that, "Hideaway" notches a 16th consecutive week within the top 2, which rewrites history in the fact that it has now spent the most weeks within that 2 position region for any song to date (16). Lady Gaga's "Applause" previously held the most overall week title with 15 (which were in 2013-2014). OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" previously held the most consecutive week title with 13 (all of which were in 2014). With "Hideaway" still in a great spot, it's highly likely that the track winds up with a final point cume around the same level as both "Applause" and "Counting Stars" (both of which ended with over 1500 points and currently rank among the All Time top 5). With approximately 800 points earned through week #16, "Hideaway" is already one of the most successful singles of 2014.

Maroon 5's "Maps" holds 3-3, tallying a 4th non-consecutive week in the position, and a 9th week in the top 5. It previously peaked at #1 for 5 consecutive weeks. Following its run in the top slot, it relinquished its throne to fellow Maroon 5 track "It Was Always You". With just 3 more weeks of tracking left in the Summer 2014 season, "Maps" is bound to finish in the top 5, likely behind longtime frontrunner "Hideaway" (by Kiesza), and Sweden's Eurovision 2014 entry, "Undo" (by Sanna Nielsen). As for the final outcome of "Maps", it should be on track to complete the year with around 1000 points, which would make it the group's third single to do so. With "Animals" set to be released at the end of next week, Maroon 5's forthcoming album, V, which will debut on September 2nd, could end up producing another instant hit just like 2012's Overexposed did.

Back to "Maps", the cut holds at #2 for a second week on Pop Songs (which it previously led for 5 weeks), slides 3-5 on the Streaming Songs chart (where it previously bulleted at #2 for 4 weeks) and bullets yet again at #1 on Radio Songs (which it has lead for 9 consecutive weeks). It also elevates sharply on the Social Songs 100. It previously led the mentioned chart for a single week. Additionally, "Maps" holds at #2 on Adult Pop Songs and on Adult Songs. It led the former for 5 weeks and the latter for 7 weeks.

Kiesza's "Giant In My Heart" holds tight at #4 on the CDS Music Chart Hot 50 for a second week, tallying a 9th consecutive week in the top 10. It previously stalled at #3 for a record long 4 consecutive weeks. Previously, her debut single "Hideaway" reached the summit of the Hot 50 chart for 6 consecutive weeks. While "Giant In My Heart" is in a tough spot (thanks to a strong amount of competition), it could eventually wind up as Kiesza's 2nd consecutive chart topping single. With two more tracks ready for release (an official worldwide release of the rarely heard "No Enemiesz" and a collaboration with Diplo and Skrillex titled "Take U There"), Kiesza could end up walking away from 2014 with 4 #1s. That would tie Rihanna and Nicki Minaj for the most #1 singles by an artist in a single calendar year (4 apiece). But lets not get ahead of ourselves; Kiesza has only nailed a single #1 for now. Stay tuned.

Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj bound 7-5 with "Bang Bang". With the move, Nicki Minaj scores her 7th top single (in its debut week it became the singer's 12th top 10). Additionally, the track is Jessie J's 3rd top 5 and first since "LaserLight (feat. David Guetta)" wound up at #3 in mid 2012. It's also Ariana Grande's first single to reach the top 5, with "The Way" and "Problem (feat. Iggy Azalea)" stopping at #9. "Break Free (feat. Zedd)", her only other charting entry to not reach the top 10, has since reached #40 on the CDS Music Chart Hot 50.

Meanwhile, Sia's "Chandelier" reverses course by dropping 5-6. It previously reached a peak of #5 during its 21st week on the CDS Music Chart Hot 50, her second highest peaking single to date. Her only other journey to the top 5 came when her collaboration single with David Guetta ("Titanium") reached the pinnacle of the Hot 50 for two consecutive weeks back in August 2012 (almost exactly two years ago), while her collaboration with Flo Rida ("Wild Ones") reached #8 several weeks after the inception of the chart (early 2012). Unfortunately, the only record that "Chandelier" could have possibly broken was the longest climb to the top 5 record (held by Kelly Clarkson's #3 peaking "People Like Us"); it missed tying the record by one week and fell two weeks short of rewriting the record.

Two entries catapult into the CDS Music Chart Hot 50's top 10 this week: Röyksopp & Robyn vault 15-7 with their debut collaboration single "Do It Again". As separate artists, they each claim their first ever top 10 singles. The track claims this week's Airplay Gainer distinction. Additionally, Alyssa Reid's "Satisfaction Guaranteed" reaches the upper tier by blasting 19-8. It's the CDS Music Chart Hot 50's biggest streaming gainer this week, as well as Reid's first ever top 10 single. These tracks swap with with Vita Chambers' "A+D" (which drops 6-11) and Nico & Vinz's "Am I Wrong" (which dives 8-13).

Secondcity's "I Wanna Feel" climbs a single rung to #9 (10-9). While it might end up being stuck in the same position for a few consecutive weeks, it's likely that "I Wanna Feel" winds up peaking higher than this.

Clean Bandit's "Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne)" dips 9-10, spending an 19th non-consecutive week in the top 10. To date, the track has scored just over 1100 points to date, which is just 40 points under the amount of points scored by the #1 song of the year to date (One Republic's "Counting Stars"). In just about one more weeks, "Rather Be" will become the most successful single of the year to date.

Chart Highlights: "Anaconda" Slithers Onto Hot 50, Maroon 5 Self Replaces At Summit

Meanwhile, Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" vaults, and Iggy Azalea's collaboration with Rita Ora scales the Hot 50.

But before we get into that, I'd like to point out that it will be impossible for any song to pass Platinum status (1000+ points) by the end of 2014 if they do not debut by next week.

As another note, the Summer Songs Competition will run for another 4 weeks (ending with the Hot 50 issue dated September 11th). The top 40 Summer Songs will be revealed in a special post on September 7th, so get ready!

Maroon 5's "It Was Always You" jumps 4-1 to crown the chart for the first time. With the jump to the summit, Maroon 5 becomes the first artist or group this year to replace themselves at the top slot (previously, "Maps" had led the list for 5 weeks before being replaced by "It Was Always You"). Additionally, they log a 12th overall week at the summit since the chart's 2012 inception. These 12 weeks are of course spread across 5 #1's (which ties Rihanna's sum of 5 as the most for any artist or group).

1 Week at #1 - "It Was Always You" - August 14th, 2014
1 Week at #1 - "Love Somebody" - September 20th, 2012
1 Week at #1 - "One More Night" - September 13th, 2012

Back to "It Was Always You", the track posts across the board gains on the Streaming Songs chart, the Social Songs 100 and the Radio Songs chart. It gains 6-2 on the Streaming Songs chart (behind Kiesza's "Hideaway" which holds the top slot for a 15th consecutive week), jumps 8-4 on Radio Songs and soars 47-14 on the Social Songs 100. The cut takes over the Pop Songs list (dethroning "Maps", which led for 5 weeks) as well as the subsidiary Adult Pop Songs and Adult Songs lists (dethroning "Maps" on both).

Kiesza's "Hideaway" holds 2-2 on the Hot 50, tallying a 9th consecutive week in the runner up slot (after leading the list for 6 weeks beginning in early May). With 9 weeks in the runner up slot, the track ties Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray Dalton)" for the second most amount of weeks in the position with 9 apiece. The honor of the longest time spent in the second place slot is bestowed upon OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" which wrapped an 11 week run in the slot back in early 2014. Interestingly enough, all songs to spend at least 8 weeks in the position hit #1 immediately following or immediately preceding their time at #2. Even more twisted, all tracks to reach #1 after spending at least two months at #2 wound up with extremely short reigns at the summit. In fact the longest time spent at #1 after spending at least 8 weeks at #2 is a mere 3 weeks (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Can't Hold Us").

In addition to that, "Hideaway" notches a 15th consecutive week within the top 2, which rewrites history in the fact that it has now spent the most consecutive weeks within that 2 position region for any song to date (15), and ties for the most overall weeks in the 2 position region (Lady Gaga's "Applause" spent 15 non-consecutive weeks in the region across 2013-2014) . With approximately 750 points earned through week #15, "Hideaway" is bound to become one of the most successful singles of 2014, if not the most successful.

For those of you that have been paying attention, you'll note that Maroon 5's "Maps" (which led last week) has indeed landed at #3 this week, which marks a two position drop from the top (1-3). This week ends the 5 week command of "Maps", which along with "Hideaway" has pretty much ruled this Summer. Racking nearly 400 points across its first eight weeks, the track will without a doubt pass 900 points and continue Maroon 5's massive success streak. As a side note, however, Maroon 5's next single ("Animals") will debut within the next two weeks and could wind up stealing the show from both "It Was Always You" and "Maps". I'm expecting "Animals" to eventually wind up with a #1 stint, but whether or not it will directly follow up "It Was Always You" at the summit is beyond me. Maroon 5's forthcoming album, V, will debut on September 2nd and could end up producing another instant hit just like 2012's Overexposed did ("Lucky Strike" followed by "Love Somebody").

Back to "Maps", the cut slides 1-2 on Pop Songs (which it previously led for 5 weeks), slides 2-3 on the Streaming Songs chart (where it previously bulleted at #2 for 4 weeks) and bullets yet again at #1 on Radio Songs (which it has lead for 8 consecutive weeks). The track bullets 40-9 (a 31 position gain) on the Social Songs 100, becoming one of this week's greatest gainers. It previously led the mentioned chart for a single week. Additionally, "Maps" slides 1-2 on Adult Pop Songs and on Adult Songs. It led the former for 5 weeks and the latter for 7 weeks.

Kiesza's "Giant In My Heart" slides 3-4 after peaking at #3 for 4 consecutive weeks, to notch a 8th consecutive week in the top 10. Previously, her debut single "Hideaway" reached the summit of the Hot 50 chart for 6 consecutive weeks. "Giant" ups 4-3 on the Streaming Songs chart, and charges 42-29 on the Social Songs 100. At this point, it is highly likely that Kiesza's "Giant In My Heart" ends up joining "Hideaway" in the Summer Songs top 10. We'll know more about where it could rank in just a few weeks, as the competition will gruel on for 4 more weeks.

Sia's "Chandelier" reaches the top 5 for the first time in its 21 week run on the Hot 50 by climbing 7-5. With the move, the track becomes Sia's second highest peaking single to date and second to ever rank #5 or above. Also to note, "Chandelier" becomes just the third song ever to reach the top 5 after spending at least 19 prior weeks on the chart. Kelly Clarkson's #3 peaking "People Like Us" (which holds the record for the longest climb to the top 5) took 22 weeks to reach the platform, while Marina & the Diamonds took 20 weeks to land "How to Be A Heart Breaker" in the region. It's safe to say that "Chandelier" is extremely unlikely to summit the Hot 50: no act has ever reach this milestone and reached the top of the chart.

Vita Chambers' "A+D" holds 6-6 during its 15th week on the chart. The song, which previously peaked at #4, was the 4th single from the artist to reach the CDS Music Chart Hot 50's top 5. It followed "Fix You", "Masquerade" and "What If?", which peaked at numbers 1, 2 and 3 respectively.

Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj bound 9-7 with "Bang Bang" thanks mainly due to a 2-1 rise on the Social Songs 100 and a 10-8 rise on Streaming Songs. With the lift, the track becomes Ariana Grande's highest charting single ever (her only other top 10 singles, "Problem" and "The Way", both stopped at #9) and the highest charting single ever from a 3-pack of solo artists.

Nico & Vinz crash 5-8 with their debut single "Am I Wrong". The track, which peaked at #5 for two consecutive weeks, is the only song by an Norwegian group or solo artist to reach the top 5. Unfortunately, this track didn't hold as well as initially expected, elevating over 30 positions and crashing downward all within a 10 week span. Hopefully the September 16th release of the group's debut studio album (Black Star Elephant) can help regenerate some momentum for the song.

Clean Bandit's "Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne)" dips 8-9, spending an 18th non-consecutive week in the top 10. To date, the track has scored just over 1060 points to date, which is just 80 points under the amount of points scored by the #1 song of the year to date (One Republic's "Counting Stars"). In just about two more weeks, "Rather Be" will become the most successful single of the year to date.

To round out the top 10, Secondcity's "I Wanna Feel" climbs 11-10 on the CDS Music Chart Hot 50. With the move, the track becomes Secondcity's first ever top 10 single, as well as the 4th and final deep house song to rank in the upper tier this week.

Below the top 10, "Satisfaction Guaranteed" by Alyssa Reid rebounds 24-19 on the CDS Music Chart after leaving the top 20 for several weeks. Thanks to a large gain at the end of this week, it could end up reaching the top 10 next week. Röyksopp & Robyn's "Do It Again" is in a similar predicament. It rebounds 20-15 on the Hot 50 as well, and should be able to crack the top 10 next week.

This week's top debut arrives courtesy of Nicki Minaj. The rapper arrives at #29 with her just released new single, "Anaconda". With the debut, the track becomes the artist's 21st entry onto the Hot 50. That ranks 1st all time (since the chart's 2012 inception).

Chart Highlights: Maroon 5, Jessie J Debut

Maroon 5's "Maps" holds tight at #1 for a 5th consecutive week, making the song the 2nd longest running #1 of 2014 behind Kiesza's "Hideaway" (which lasted at #1 for 6 consecutive weeks at the top of the Hot 50). With another week tacked down at #1, "Maps" hops over "Payphone (feat. Wiz Khalifa)" to become the veteran group's longest running #1 to date (5 weeks versus 4 weeks). That also bumps Maroon 5's cumulative weeks at #1 to 11, becoming one of the few groups or artists to do so with at least two singles. Rihanna became the first to do so, and has now tallied 20 weeks at the top across 5 #1's. Lady Gaga has reigned for 18 weeks total since the chart's 2012 launch, all of them consecutive during the tail end of 2013. That makes Maroon 5 the 3rd most successful group or artist in terms of weeks at #1.

Here's a quick look at Maroon 5's #1 reigns on the Hot 50 since its 2012 inception.

Weeks - Title - Start of Reign
5 Weeks at #1 - "Maps" - July 10th, 2014
4 Weeks at #1 - "Payphone (feat. Wiz Khalifa)" - April 19th, 2012
1 Week at #1 - "Love Somebody" - September 20th, 2012
1 Week at #1 - "One More Night" - September 13th, 2012

Back to "Maps", the track gains by a steady 4% in terms of overall points. The track ups on 2 of the 3 major point collecting categories. "Maps" gains on Radio Songs, as well as on Streaming Songs, though it drops off with a major slide on the Social Songs 100. With the #2 track (Kiesza's "Hideaway") drooping by another 3%, "Maps" comfortably leads the list with a 22% fluff. Last week, a mere 15% separated the two tracks.

The cut leads Pop Songs for a fifth week, holds at #2 on Streaming Songs for a fourth straight week (behind Kiesza's "Hideaway", which leads for a 14th week) and bullets yet again at #1 on Radio Songs (which it has lead for a 7 consecutive weeks). The track bullets slips 2-40 (a 38 position dip) on the Social Songs 100, becoming this week's biggest faller. It previously led the mentioned chart for a single week. Additionally, "Maps" spends a 5th frame atop Adult Pop Songs and a 7th week atop Adult Songs.

Kiesza's "Hideaway" holds at #2 for an 8th consecutive week (after leading the list for 6 weeks beginning in early May), which places it in a tie for the third longest stay in the runner up position. The track ties Calvin Harris' eventual 2 week #1 ("Sweet Nothing") for third place, with both tallying 8 weeks in the position. That's just behind Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray Dalton)" (which, after tallying 9 weeks in the runner up position, eventually wound up at #1) and OneRepublic's "Counting Stars", which holds the all time record with 11 weeks in the runner up slot. Will Kiesza's track end up taking the all time record? Only time will tell.

More on "Hideaway", the track has now logged the longest stay in the top 2 for any song in 2014 (ousting OneRepublic's "Counting Stars", which spend 13 weeks in the reign). Additionally, Kiesza still holds the second longest running #1 debut (behind the 11 non-consecutive week run of "Applause") as well as the only song to rack 100 points or more for 14 weeks, further extending its record lead (it surpassed "Do What U Want" after its third week past 100) though that's not saying much given that every track in the top 10 wound up past 100 points this week. Currently, "Hideaway" is ranked as the #1 song of the summer as the annual competition enters its tenth week, making it highly likely that it'll become this summer's #1 song.

Kiesza's "Giant In My Heart" holds at #3 for a 4th consecutive week to notch its 6th week within the top 10. Previously, her debut single "Hideaway" reached the summit of the Hot 50 chart for 6 consecutive weeks at #1. The track holds tight at #4 on the Streaming Songs chart, and charges up the Social Songs 100. At this point, it is highly likely that "Giant" won't end up taking the #1 position from the current leader (Maroon 5's "Maps") within the next few weeks. Despite this, Kiesza's "Giant In My Heart" could end up joining "Hideaway" in the Summer Songs top 10. We'll know more about where it could rank in a few weeks, as the competition is just beginning its second half.

The biggest debut of the week comes from Maroon 5's "It Was Always You", which arrives at #4 on the Hot 50. With the blast onto the chart, Maroon 5 notches their 9th consecutive top 5 single (and 6th non-consecutive top 5 opening). The cut comes soaring onto the Streaming Songs at #3, and opens at #8 on Radio Songs. The track also posts a top 50 opening on the Social Songs 100, a small yet decent sized wave.

Maroon 5's previous 8 top 5 hits are as follows: the #1 peaking "Maps" (and current Hot 50 leader), the #1 peaking "Payphone (feat. Wiz Khalifa)", the #1 peaking "One More Night", the #1 peaking "Love Somebody", the #3 peaking "Lucky Strike", the #5 peaking "Doin' Dirt", the #5 peaking "Daylight" and the #5 peaking "Moves Like Jagger (feat. Christina Aguilera)". With a massive opening frame, "It Was Always You" could wind up becoming the band's 5th #1 single (and 2nd consecutive chart topper after "Maps").

Nico & Vinz's "Am I Wrong" tallies a second consecutive frame at #5, dipping 4% in overall points. As for the rest of the top 10, Vita Chambers' "A+D" slides 4-6 (after peaking at #4 for a single week), with Sia's "Chandelier" and Clean Bandit's "Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne)" dipping one position each (6-7 and 7-8). At this point, Clean Bandit's "Rather Be" is now this year's most successful single to date on CDS Music Chart.

Opening at #9, Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj team up for "Bang Bang". The track, bolstered by a massive airplay campaign, opens way above the level I initially anticipated. With the debut, the track becomes Nicki Minaj's 12th non-consecutive top ten single and 21st Hot 50 entry as well as Ariana Grande's 4th Hot 50 as well as 3rd top ten single (oddly all of which have ended up peaking at #9) and Jessie J's 4th top 10 (and 7th entry overall). Expect "Bang Bang" to play well throughout the rest of year.

Sanna Nielsen's "Undo" rounds out the top 10 by slipping 8-10. It tallies a 13th week within the top 10 (three of those were at #1, and a total of 11 were in the top 5).

There is no Social Songs 100 analysis or genre based analysis this week, it will return next week. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Come back for more posts.

Chart Highlights: Ayah Marar, NERVO and R3HAB Claim Top Debut

Note: I'm sorry the chart is so late... it's hard to post when in a different country.

As Maroon 5's "Maps" claims the top spot on the Hot 50 for a 4th week, the track ties their 2012 hit "Payphone (feat. Wiz Khalifa)" as the group's longest running #1 effort. That bumps Maroon 5's cumulative weeks at #1 to 10, becoming one of the few groups or artists to do so with at least two singles. With promotional single "It Was Always You" likely to enter the chart next week, Maroon 5 could end up scoring their 5th #1 and could potentially close the gap (Lady Gaga's 18 versus Maroon 5's 10) to tighten the race.

Here's a quick look at Maroon 5's #1 reigns on the Hot 50 since its 2012 inception.

Weeks - Title - Start of Reign
4 Weeks at #1 - "Payphone (feat. Wiz Khalifa)" - April 19th, 2012
4 Weeks at #1 - "Maps" - July 10th, 2014
1 Week at #1 - "Love Somebody" - September 20th, 2012
1 Week at #1 - "One More Night" - September 13th, 2012

Back to "Maps", the track tacks another week on the summit bolstered by major strides on component charts. Additionally, its two biggest competitors decline in points this week (yet again). In other words, "Maps" holds the summit with a comfortable lead. With "Maps" posting a 5% gain and Kiesza's "Hideaway" dipping approximately 2%, Maroon 5 holds the top position with a 15% lead. Last week, a mere 12% separated the two tracks.

The continued gains suggest that "Maps" will lead for a large amount of time than originally anticipated; it could become the longest running 2014 #1 single. The cut leads Pop Songs for a fourth week, holds at #2 on Streaming Songs for a third straight week and bullets yet again at #1 on Radio Songs (which it has lead for a 6 consecutive weeks). The track bullets 7-2 on the Social Songs 100, only behind The Script's "Superheroes" (which rewrites Social Songs 100 history this week; more on that later). It previously led the chart for a single week. Additionally, "Maps" spends a 4th frame atop Adult Pop Songs and a 6th week atop Adult Songs.

To date (including this frame), Maroon 5 has notched a cumulative total of 10 weeks at #1 on the Hot 50 since 2012 across 4 entries (out of 8 top 10s). As previously noted, that ranks 3rd all time. Maroon 5's previous 7 top 5 hits are as follows: the #1 peaking "Payphone (feat. With just under 250 points through its 5th frame, "Maps" is already on pace to wind up with a total past 900, with a 2x Platinum certification (1250+ points) within reach. That would put it between "Payphone" and "One More Night", as the band's second biggest single to date (2012-present).

Kiesza's "Hideaway" holds strong in 2nd place for a seventh week. The track, which spent its first 6 weeks at #1, has logged 13 consecutive weeks with the top 2. While that's nowhere near the record, it's worth noting that "Hideaway" is now in a tie for most weeks within that tight region in 2014: OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" previously spent 13 weeks in the area, with a record 11 of those being at #2. Amazingly, Kiesza still holds the second longest running #1 debut (behind the 11 non-consecutive week run of "Applause") as well as the only song to rack 100 points or more for 13 weeks, further extending its record lead (it surpassed "Do What U Want" after its third week past 100) though that's not saying much given that every track in the top 10 wound up past 100 points this week. Currently, "Hideaway" is ranked as the #1 song of the summer as the annual competition enters its ninth week, making it highly likely that it'll become this summer's #1 song.

Kiesza's "Giant In My Heart" holds at its #3 peak position for a 3rd consecutive week to notch its 5th week within the top 10. Previously, her debut single "Hideaway" reached the summit of the Hot 50 chart for 6 consecutive weeks at #1. With 127 points scored this week, the track easily claimed the #3 position this week.

Vita Chambers' "A+D" ascends 5-4 on the Hot 50 this week, to help extend Vita's top 5 achievement streak. All 4 of her charting singles have reached the top 5, but all have reached different numbers within the top 5. To twist things even more, her first single reached #1 ("Fix You"), her second single reached #2 ("Masquerade"), her third single reached #3 ("What If?") and her 4th single ("A+D") has reached #4 to date. Thus, she is the only artist to have all singles place at different positions in consecutive chronological order within the top 5.

Nico & Vinz's "Am I Wrong" bounds into the top 5 for the first time with a single position move (6-5). "Wrong" shifts upwards in overall chart points, and shuffles up on several genre based and component charts thanks to its lift. It bounds 3-2 on Pop Songs, 4-3 on Radio Songs, 3-2 on Adult Songs and holds 2-2 on Adult Pop Songs. Interestingly enough, Nico & Vinz becomes the first Norwegian act to reach the top 5. Other neighboring countries including Denmark, UK and Sweden have all reached this tier at least once.

Sia's "Chandelier" elevates 7-6, marking a single position gain on this week's chart. The track regresses 3-4 on Radio Songs, but posts gains on other component charts. "Chandelier" bounds 4-3 on Pop Songs, 4-3 on Adult Songs and holds 3-3 on Adult Pop Songs. It has also become Sia's second most successful single to date (after her collaboration with David Guetta, "Titanium", which ended up hitting the #1 position for two consecutive frames), outing her collaboration with Flo Rida's "Wild Ones" (which peaked at #8 on the Hot 50 for just a single frame).

Clean Bandit's "Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne)" rebounds 8-7 on this week's Hot 50. Out of its 24 weeks on the chart, the track has spent 15 non-consecutive weeks in the top 10. It previously tallied two weeks at #9 toward the start of its run and a total of five non-consecutive weeks at #10 (a record tying total).Given the track's impressively strong track record (and unexpected increase this week), "Rather Be" is guaranteed to close past 1250 chart points (it passes 1000 points this week), which ranks as the #3 best performing single of the year to date.

Sanna Nielsen's previous 3 week #1 single "Undo" suffers its biggest collapse to date, with a 4-8 drop. While it has spent 11 weeks in the top 10, it's almost guaranteed to close beneath 900 points.

Iggy Azalea's "Fancy (feat. Charli XCX)" holds 9-9 after spending the past month stalled at #6. This week it racks up a 10th week within in the top 10, still marking gains on the chart. Additionally, it makes noticeable strides on Radio and Streaming components. It leads Hip-Hop/Rap Songs for a 12th straight week, though it slips considerably on the Social Songs 100. It should be on pace for an 13th week at #1 on Hip-Hop/Rap Songs, but could come across some stiff competition from "Bang Bang" next week (Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj) as well as some heated competition from Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda" (which drops in two weeks).

Disclosure's "Latch (feat. Sam Smith)" holds at #10 for the second frame in a row. The electronic hit previously peaked at #3, and spent 3 weeks at #4 (the most weeks at the same position for the track). The track's fantastic hold can be mainly attributed to its massive presence at United States radio and its massive move on the Social Songs 100. The single will easily wind up becoming one of the biggest successes of the summer and possibly of the entire year. "Latch" will likely become one of the biggest dance tracks of the year, and has a shot at becoming a heavily nominated track at the 2014 CDS Music Chart Year End Awards.

New debuts include the massive collaboration between NERVO & R3HAB, "Ready For the Weekend (feat. Ayah Marar), The Script's "Superheroes" (thanks to it becoming the most successful song in Social Songs 100 history and "Black Widow (feat. Rita Ora)" by Iggy Azalea.

- "Ready For the Weekend (feat. Ayah Marar)" by NERVO & R3HAB (NERVO's 2nd entry; R3HAB's 1st entry; Ayah Marar's 3rd entry)

Chart Highlights: DJ Fresh Opens Top 20, Vita Chambers Scores 4th Top 5

This was an extremely competitive week on the Hot 50, with over 60 songs having fair shots at claiming spots. But with a chart only 50 positions long, there's bound to be some unfortunate situations. The thing that made this week especially gripping? There was a whole bunch of action over on the Social Songs 100 component chart, which had tons of songs vying for top 10 positions as well as constant rank changes throughout the week. It all came down to the last few hours of voting. Voting came in waves so large that the list saw more votes than the previous two weeks combined, as well as posting the largest volume of views and votes in over two months. The double point multiplier was not unlocked this past week, but as another hot week of voting begins on Monday, it's likely to be unlocked for the very first time.

When all was said and done, DJ Fresh and Ellie Goulding's revamped collaboration ("Flashlight") was crowned the #1 song of the week on the Social Songs 100. With the victory, "Flashlight" became the most approved #1 song in the 3 month history of the component chart with 94% of all votes for the track being counted as positive. That huge social presence translated into a massive debut for the track on the Hot 50. Remember, the Social Songs 100 is just 1 of the 4 main components that combine to create the Hot 50. See exactly where "Flashlight" entered on the Hot 50 after coverage of the top 10.

Maroon 5's "Maps" stays put in first place for a 3rd consecutive week, edging closer to the group's record stay at the summit. The band has sent 4 singles to the top off the Hot 50, totaling a grand total of 9 weeks at the top of the chart. Here's how the breakdown goes:

Weeks - Title - Start of Reign
4 Weeks at #1 - "Payphone (feat. Wiz Khalifa)" - April 19th, 2012
3 Weeks at #1 - "Maps" - July 10th, 2014
1 Week at #1 - "Love Somebody" - September 20th, 2012
1 Week at #1 - "One More Night" - September 13th, 2012

Back to "Maps", the track tacks another week on the summit bolstered by major strides on component charts. Additionally, its two biggest competitors decline in points this week. In other words, "Maps" holds the summit with a comfortable lead. With "Maps" posting a gain and Kiesza's "Hideaway" dipping approximately 2%, Maroon 5 holds the top position with a 12% lead. Last week, a mere 7.5% separated the two tracks.

With 135 all format points counted this week, the track gains by approximately 3% (+2.96%) which suggests "Maps" will lead for a large amount of time than originally anticipated. The cut leads Pop Songs for a third week, holds at #2 on Streaming Songs for a second straight week and bullets yet again at #1 on Radio Songs (which it has lead for a 5 consecutive weeks). The track descends 1-7 on the Social Songs 100 after just a single week on top. Additionally, "Maps" spends a 3rd frame atop Adult Pop Songs and a 5th week atop Adult Songs.

To date (including this frame), Maroon 5 has notched a cumulative total of 8 weeks at #1 on the Hot 50 since 2012 across 4 entries (out of 8 top 10s). Maroon 5's previous 7 top 5 hits are as follows: the #1 peaking "Payphone (feat. With just under 250 points through its 5th frame, "Maps" is already on pace to wind up with a total past 900, with a 2x Platinum certification (1250+ points) within reach. That would put it between "Payphone" and "One More Night", as the band's second biggest single to date (2012-present).

Kiesza's "Hideaway" holds strong in 2nd place for a sixth week. The track, which spent its first 6 weeks at #1, has logged 12 consecutive weeks with the top 2. While that's nowhere bear the record, it's worth noting that only one other song has achieved more weeks in the region in all of 2014: OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" previously spent a massive 13 weeks in the area, with a record 11 of those being at #2. Amazingly, Kiesza still holds the second longest running #1 debut (behind the 11 non-consecutive week run of "Applause") as well as the only song to rack 100 points or more for 12 weeks, further extending its record lead (it surpassed "Do What U Want" after its third week past 100) though that's not saying much given that every track in the top 10 wound up past 100 points this week. Currently, "Hideaway" is ranked as the #1 song of the summer as the annual competition enters its eighth week, furthering its lead over Sanna Nielsen's "Undo" (which held the #1 seasonal slot to date for 3 weeks).

Kiesza's "Giant In My Heart" holds at its #3 peak position for a 2nd consecutive week to notch its 4th week within the top 10. Previously, her debut single "Hideaway" reached the summit of the Hot 50 chart for 6 consecutive weeks at #1. With 124 points scored this week, the track barely slipped into the #3 position this week. At this point, it is highly likely that "Giant" winds up taking the #1 position from the current leader (Maroon 5's "Maps") within the next few weeks. That would make it Kiesza's second #1 single. At this rate, Kiesza's "Giant In My Heart" could end up joining "Hideaway" in the Summer Songs top 10. We'll know more about where it could rank in a few weeks, as the competition is just beginning its second half.

Sanna Nielsen's "Undo" holds tight at #4 on the CDS Music Chart Hot 50's summit after reigning at #1 for 3 consecutive frames, which tied Loreen's "Euphoria" as the longest reigning #1 hit from any edition of the Eurovision Song Contest (coincidentally, both female artists represented Sweden in the annual competition). This week, "Undo" slides to 122 points, a 3 point drop. With its continued slip, "Undo" continues to fall below Kiesza's "Hideaway" in terms of overall points in the 2014 Summer Songs competition. As of the eigth week of summer tracking, "Undo" is now the #2 best performing track of the season (Kiesza's "Hideaway" shifts to 345 points, to continue holding the #1 seasonal rank).

Vita Chambers' "A+D" ascends 10-5 to become the Canadian artist's  4th consecutive top 5 single. The track follows Vita's "Fix You, "Masquerade" and "What If?" (which peaked at numbers 1, 2 and 3 respectively), which all hit the region between December 2012 and October 2013. The track posts this week's biggest top 10 increase courtesy of a 43-3 blast on the Social Songs 100 (which gives the track an 8 point bonus) as well as a 5 point boost thanks to the release of the track's official video.  While "A+D" was the only Vita Chambers song to not debut within the top 10, the track has clearly made up for it with this surge. With this frame, it spends a fifth week past 100 points and a 6th overall week in the top 10.

In 6th and 7th place, Nico & Vinz and Sia each advance one position with their singles "Am I Wrong" (7-6) and "Chandelier" (8-7) respectively. Nico & Vinz's track shifts upwards in overall chart points, and shuffles up on several genre based and component charts thanks to its lift. It bounds 4-3 on Pop Songs, 8-4 on Radio Songs, 5-3 on Adult Songs and 4-2 on Adult Pop Songs. Sia's power pop single is also up in overall chart points while making huge strides on the Social Songs 100 (18-5). The track additionally bumps 9-3 on Radio Songs, bounds 5-4 on Pop Songs, 6-4 on Adult Songs and 5-3 on Adult Pop Songs.

After spending 4 weeks within the top 5, Clean Bandit's "Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne)" drops 5-8 on this week's Hot 50. Out of its 23 weeks on the chart, the track has spent 14 non-consecutive weeks in the top 10. It previously tallied two weeks at #9 toward the start of its run and a total of five non-consecutive weeks at #10 (a record tying total). Katy Perry's "Dark Horse (feat. Juicy J)" first strung together 5 non-consecutive weeks at #10 between December 2013 and February 2014. Given the track's impressively strong track record (and decent hold this week), "Rather Be" will likely close past 1000 chart points (it passes 925 points this week), which ranks as the #4 best performing single of the year to date.

Iggy Azalea's "Fancy (feat. Charli XCX)" drops 6-9 after spending the past month stalled at #6. This week it racks up a 9th week within in the top 10, still marking gains on the chart. Additionally, it makes noticeable strides on Radio and Streaming components. It leads Hip-Hop/Rap Songs for a 11th straight week, though it slips considerably on the Social Songs 100. It should be on pace for an 12th week at #1 on Hip-Hop/Rap Songs, given the fact that its biggest competitor (Nicki Minaj's "Pills N Potions") drops 1 rung to #15 this week.

After 4 weeks between #11-14, Disclosure's "Latch (feat. Sam Smith)" returns to the upper tier for the first time in just over a month.

Just outside the top 10, DJ Fresh and Ellie Goulding team together to launch "Flashlight" (a revamped version of the original Halcyon Days track from 2013), which enters the CDS Music Chart Hot 50 at #19, barely debuting within the top 20. The track becomes Ellie Goulding's 10th charting single, and 9th top 20 single. It's also DJ Fresh's first track to debut on the Hot 50 (though he has gotten close 5 times prior, most recently with his "Dibby Dibby Sound" in February 2014). Up and coming American alternative/indie-pop artist (well actually her genre is an amazing combination of a whole bunch of sub genres; you need to give her a listen) VÉRITÉ debuts as the second highest entry with her first ever single "Strange Enough". Other entries include "We Are Done" by The Madden Brothers, "Right Here" by Jess Glynne and "Only Love Can Hurt Like This" by Paloma Faith on the lower end of the Hot 50.

- "Flashlight" by DJ Fresh & Ellie Goulding (1st entry; Ellie's 10th entry)

Chart Highlights: Sia Enters Top 10, The Madden Brothers Bubble

Something's a-brew this week on the CDS Music Chart Hot 50. Sia soars into the upper tier after rattling around for 16 weeks, Usher claims this week's top debut with "She Came To Give It To You" (#16), last week's big debuts jump up the list, and The Madden Brothers squeeze into 51st place ahead of favorite Jess Glynne's "Right Here", which enters the list at #52 (falling short of expectations). As I do every weekend (in this case, Monday), let's dive deeper into the numbers and how things played out on this week's chart.

Maroon 5's "Maps" locks up the #1 slot yet again, for a 2nd week at #1. While that run at #1 is nothing to brag about (the longest chart leader tallied 11 frames atop the list), it's worth noting that "Maps" has already become Maroon 5's second longest runner, surpassing "One More Night" and "Love Somebody". Those two tracks reigned for 1 week each, with "Somebody" replacing "Night" atop the list. "Payphone (feat. Wiz Khalifa)" (the group's best performing single) is the only track by the band to rack more weeks at #1, tallying 4 frames on the summit from April to May 2012. With just under 200 points through its 4th frame, "Maps" is already on pace to wind up with a total past 900, with a 2x Platinum certification (1250+ points) within reach. That would put it between "Payphone" and "One More Night", as the band's second biggest single to date (2012-present).

With 131 all format points counted this week, the track dips by approximately 3% (-2.96%) which suggests that a fall from the summit is likely within the next several weeks. The cut leads Pop Songs for a second week, climb 3-2 on Streaming Songs and bullets at #1 on Radio Songs (which it has lead for a 4 consecutive weeks). It also leaps 9-1 on the Voter's List, which gave it a slightly bigger point boost this week. Additionally, "Maps" spends a 2nd frame atop Adult Pop Songs and a 4th week atop Adult Songs.

Kiesza's "Hideaway" holds on to the runner-up position for a 5th consecutive frame, which brings its weeks in the top 5 to 11. It previously peaked at #1 for 6 consecutive weeks. Amazingly, Kiesza still holds the second longest running #1 debut (behind the 11 non-consecutive week run of "Applause") as well as the only song to rack 100 points or more for 11 weeks, further extending its record lead (it surpassed "Do What U Want" after its third week past 100) though that's not saying much given that every track in the top 10 wound up past 100 points this week. For the 4th straight week, Kiesza barely lands in the #2 position, facing strong competition from Maroon 5's "Maps" (which elevates to #1 this week). Currently, "Hideaway" is ranked as the #1 song of the summer as the annual competition enters its seventh week, jumping past Sanna Nielsen's "Undo" (which held the #1 seasonal slot to date for 3 weeks).

Kiesza's "Giant In My Heart" elevates 5-3 to become the Canadian singer's 2nd consecutive entry to reach the top 5. Previously, her debut single "Hideaway" reached the summit of the Hot 50 chart for 6 consecutive weeks at #1. With 127 points scored this week, the track barely slipped into the #3 position this week. At this point, it is highly likely that "Giant" winds up taking the #1 position from the current leader (Maroon 5's "Maps") within the next few weeks. That would make it Kiesza's second #1 single.

Sanna Nielsen's "Undo" drops 3-4 on the CDS Music Chart Hot 50's summit after reigning at #1 for 3 consecutive frames, which tied Loreen's "Euphoria" as the longest reigning #1 hit from any edition of the Eurovision Song Contest (coincidentally, both female artists represented Sweden in the annual competition). This week, "Undo" slides to 125 points alongside a 3-4 drop on the chart. With its continued drops, "Undo" falls below Kiesza's "Hideaway" in terms of overall points in the 2014 Summer Songs competition. As of the seventh week of summer tracking, "Undo" is now the #2 best performing track of the season (Kiesza's "Hideaway" shifts to 295 points, to reclaim the #1 seasonal rank).

Clean Bandit's "Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne)" drops 4-5 after peaking at #4 for a 3 weeks. Out of its 22 weeks on the chart, the track has spent 13 non-consecutive weeks in the top 10. Given the track's impressively strong track record (and decent hold this week), "Rather Be" will likely close past 1000 chart points (it passes 880 points this week), which ranks as the #2 best performing single of the year to date.

Iggy Azalea's "Fancy (feat. Charli XCX)" holds at #6 for a 4th frame (6th overall), despite pushing past 100 frame points for the fourth time (121; +2%). With this frame, it sets the record for most weeks at #6 (6). Additionally, it makes noticeable strides on Radio and Streaming components. It leads Hip-Hop/Rap Songs for a 10th straight week, though it slips 3-4 on the Voter's Hot 100. It should be on pace for an 11th week at #1 on Hip-Hop/Rap Songs, given the fact that its biggest competitor (Nicki Minaj's "Pills N Potions") drops 2 rungs to #14 this week.

Nico & Vinz push 8-7 with their debut hit single "Am I Wrong". This week, the track jumps to 119 spins, which ranks it within the top 10 biggest frames for any song ever. That's nothing to really boast about, but "Am I Wrong" has a chance at getting close to a record before its run is over. To date, the track has yet to slip any positions or hold at the same position for a second week (all of its chart movements have been upwards). Additionally, all movements have been somewhat drastic and large. Last week it moved up 2 spaces, and in the previous it moved up 11.

Sia's "Chandelier" finally reaches the top 10 for the first time thanks to the massive release of 1000 Forms of Fear (the song's parent album, which dropped this past week). It previously spent 16 frames bouncing around the chart, ranking as high as #11 (in its debut frame) and as low as #42 (the following week). It spent most of its time between #15-25. It is Sia's third consecutive top 10 effort. She previously reached as high as #8 as a guest on Flo Rida's "Wild Ones" in early 2012, and #1 for two weeks as a guest on David Guetta's "Titanium" approximately 2 full years ago (August 2012). It is her first solo entry and first solo top 10.

Shakira's "Dare (La La La)" holds at #9 for a second week, following a crash from 5-9 earlier this month. It previously spent two frames at its peak position of #5, and with this week totals a 5th week in the top 10. While the track successfully became Shakira's 3rd consecutive top 5 single, it's highly likely that this track caps off with a total cume lower than both that of "Empire" (790+ points through July 3rd; 7th place year to date) and "Can't Remember to Forget You (feat. Rihanna)" (752 points through entire run; 9th place year to date). That's unfortunate, but it is what it is. More details and predictions next week.

Vita Chamber's 4th consecutive top 10 single, "A+D", drops 7-10 this week (its lowest top 10 ranking to date). With this frame, it spends a fourth week past 100 points and a 5th overall week in the top 10. It should hold up well throughout the rest of July (mainly because the track's official video counterpart debuted on the final day of tracking this week). While "A+D" was the only Vita Chambers song to not debut within the top 10, the track has made up for it and become the young Canadian artist's 4th straight top 10 hit (as previously announced) following "Fix You", "Masquerade" and "What If?" which debuted at numbers 10, 9 and 7 before peaking at numbers 1, 2 and 3. It is expected to rebound next week with a 5 point video boost.

Chart Highlights: Maroon 5 Barely Summits, Tinashe Claims Top Debut

After two weeks of charting, Maroon 5's "Maps" crowns the chart with a 3-1 lift in its third week on the chart. The track soars to the top of the 50 position, all format chart with 135 points, a 10 point uptick from last week's 125 point total. That ties Lady Gaga's "Venus" as the track with the second largest point frame in a non debut week; both currently rank behind Sanna Nielsen's "Undo" (137 on the chart dated July 3rd).With the move, the track abruptly cuts off the #1 run of Sanna Nielsen's "Undo" which wrapped a 3 week run at the top. While "Undo" is now stuck in a multiple way tie for shortest time at #1 in 2014, the track still manages the most solid run of any Eurovision track. Previously, Loreen's "Euphoria" (from the 2012 edition of the competition) also managed a 3 week stint in first place, though it ranked lower in terms of points in all three weeks when compared to "Undo".

Back to "Maps", the track becomes Maroon 5's 4th non-conseutive #1 single. The track follows "Payphone (feat. Wiz Khalifa)", "One More Night" and "Love Somebody" as the group's 4th #1 effort. To date (including this frame), the group has notched a cumulative total of 7 weeks at #1 since 2012. In an interesting twist, "Maps" was initially forecasted to land in 2nd or 3rd place on this week's chart behind Kiesza's "Hideaway" and Sanna Nielsen's "Undo". Surprisingly, "Maps" pulled ahead on the final day of tracking (July 4th) and completed the week barely on top of the list.

Maroon 5's previous 7 top 5 hits are as follows: the #1 peaking "Payphone (feat.

*Frame points help determine a song's position (more equals higher position; can be infinitely high), while chart points are awarded based on ranking. The #1 track gets 50 chart points even if it needed 120 frame points to get there. In other words, frame points aren't worth anything except distinguishing rank, and there is no bonus to scoring more other than recognition.

Here's a list of songs that have wound up past 100 plays. If a track had multiple weeks over 100, greatest value only is listed .NOTE: This is the second week in history to have all tracks in the top 10 tally final point scores above 101.

Kiesza's "Hideaway" added 2 points for a frame totaling 131 points, a mere 4 points off of the #1 position. To date, the track has tallied 6 consecutive weeks at #1 and another 4 consecutive consecutive frames at #2. Despite the fact that "Hideaway" didn't scoop a 7th week at #1 (like it was predicted to), Kiesza still holds the second longest running #1 debut (behind the 11 non-consecutive week run of "Applause") as well as the only song to rack 100 points or more for 10 weeks, further extending its record lead (it surpassed "Do What U Want" after its third week past 100) though that's not saying much given that every track in the top 10 wound up past 100 points. For the third straight week, Kiesza barely lands in the #2 position, facing strong competition from Maroon 5's "Maps" (which elevates to #1 this week). Currently, "Hideaway" is ranked as the #2 song of the summer as the annual competition enters its fifth week.

Sanna Nielsen's "Undo" drops from the CDS Music Chart Hot 50's summit after reigning for a 3rd consecutive frame, which tied Loreen's "Euphoria" as the longest reigning #1 hit from any edition of the Eurovision Song Contest (coincidentally, both female artists represented Sweden in the annual competition). This week, "Undo" slides to 127 points alongside a 1-3 drop on the chart. Though it no longer ranks at #1, "Undo"still holds its lead over Kiesza's "Hideaway" in terms of overall points in the 2014 Summer Songs competition. As of the fifth week of summer tracking, "Undo" currently leads the season off with 247 points (Kiesza's "Hideaway" shifts to 246 points, with the gap being only a single point wide).

Clean Bandit's "Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne)" holds at its #4 peak for a third consecutive week in its 21st week on the chart. Given the track's impressively strong track record (and massive increase this week), "Rather Be" will likely close past 1000 chart points (it passes 830 points this week), which would rank as one of the year's biggest hits.

Kiesza's "Giant In My Heart" lifts 7-5 to round out the top 5. In the process, the track become's the Canadian singer's 2nd top 5 following "Hideaway" which debuted and peaked at #1 (holding for a 2014 record long 6 weeks). Aiding the track's growth this week? The release of the official music video which received extremely positive reception among critics and fans. With the release of its parent album, the Hideaway EP, on the third day of the upcoming frame, "Giant In My Heart" could wind up in first place next week to become the singer's second consecutive #1 single. Additionally, "So Deep" (another track on the EP) is set to make a modest yet lofty start on next week's Hot 50. Additional details and forecasts coming soon.

Iggy Azalea's "Fancy (feat. Charli XCX)" holds at #6 for a 3rd frame (5th overall), despite pushing past 100 frame points for the third time (117; +2%). Additionally, it makes noticeable strides on Radio and Streaming components. It leads Hip-Hop/Rap Songs for a 9th straight week, and jumps to #3 (+5) on the Voter's Top 100 (marking its 7th top 10 appearance on the latter chart). It should be on pace for an 10th week at #1 on Hip-Hop/Rap Songs, given the fact that its biggest competitor (Nicki Minaj's "Pills N Potions") holds tight at #15 this week.

Vita Chamber's 4th consecutive top 10 single, "A+D", rebounds 8-7 on this week's chart. With this frame, it spends a third week past 100 points and a 4th overall week in the top 10. It should hold up well throughout the rest of July (mainly because the track's official video counterpart debuts on July 7th).

Nico & Vinz leap 10-8 with their debut hit single "Am I Wrong". This week, the track jumps to 112 spins, which ranks in 13th place for most points earned in a single frame. That's nothing to boast about, but "Am I Wrong" has a chance at getting close to a record before its run is over. To date, the track has yet to slip any positions or hold at the same position for a second week (all of its chart movements have been upwards). Additionally, all movements have been somewhat drastic and large. Last week it moved up 11 spaces, and in the previous it moved up 7.

Shakira's "Dare (La La La)" drops 5-9, the biggest crash in the top 10 this week. It previously spent two frames at its peak position of #5, and with this week totals a 4th week in the top 10. While the track successfully became Shakira's 3rd consecutive top 5 single, it's highly likely that this track caps off with a total cume lower than both that of "Empire" (769 points through July 3rd; 8th place year to date) and "Can't Remember to Forget You (feat. Rihanna)" (752 points through entire run; 9th place year to date). That's unfortunate, but it is what it is. More details and predictions next week.

Ariana Grande's "Problem (feat. Iggy Azalea)" slides off 9-10 while racking up exactly 105 points for the second time in a row. With the track's move into the top 10 last week, Ariana net her second straight top 10 single (after 2013's "The Way") and Iggy Azalea scooped her second straight top 10 single (after her #4 peaking "Fancy"). Additionally, Ariana equaled her highest peak (#9), which first came when 2013's "The Way (feat. Mac Miller)" reached #9 back in a nearly identical week. Unfortunately, "Problem" will likely not reach any higher on the chart. I'm expecting it to drop out of the top 10 next week.

Below the top 10, Tinashe's "2 On (feat. SchoolBoy Q)" begins at #31 (higher than the #37 debut that was previously reported) to claim the largest debut of the week. Other tracks to enter this week include the following: "My Love (feat. Jess Glynne)" by Route 94, "No Mediocre (feat. Iggy Azalea)" by T.I.", "New Flame (feat. Usher & Rick Ross)" by Chris Brown, "Good Kisser (Disclosure Remix)" by Usher x Disclosure, and "F For You (feat. Mary J Blige)" by Disclosure.

Unfortunately, nearly all of those tracks wound up with starts between 41-50, putting them in jeopardy of charting next week. Strong debuts next week should come from Kiesza's "So Deep", Ariana Grande's "Break Free (feat. Zedd)", David Guetta's "Lover's On the Sun (feat. Sam Martin)" and several tracks from Sia's forthcoming 1000 Forms of Fear album (due out July 8th in the US).
