Robin Thicke's overnight smash "Blurred Lines (feat. Pharrell & T.I.)" is quickly becoming a hit, as it surges 18-13 this week.
Could it become a major summer smash?
Of course! Don't get us wrong (the song is pretty awesome), but it is almost impossible to escape. It is rising in radio airplay everywhere, has hit #1 in many countries, and is also the current #1 song on iTunes. The song is also very different from anything else currently on the market, and is one of very few songs that has real texture and creative detail.
Hopefully it will last, and won't be diluted by radio stations in the coming weeks.

Chart Highlights: Emmelie De Forest Takes Charge
Emmelie De Forest jumps 5-1 with Eurovision Favorite/Winner "Only Teardrops". Due to heavy airplay and a load of exposure, it easily crowns the chart. It is just the fourth Eurovision entry to crack the list, and is the second to hit #1 on the tally. Last year's winner (Loreen's "Euphoria") debuted at #1, and became the #15 song of 2012, and the #7 of 2012-2013 (so far).
Holding at #2 for an eighth week is Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray Dalton)". With this, it ties the record for "Most Weeks at #2", sharing the title with "Sweet Nothing (feat. Florence Welch)" by Calvin Harris. It follows Macklemore's four week #1 hit "Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz)".
Ellie Goulding dips 1-3 with third top 5 hit "Figure 8", after a two week stay at #1. Two weeks ago it took the record for "Longest Climb to #1 Ever", topping in its 20th week. Her other two top 5 singles both stopped at #4.
NERVO's "Hold On" holds at #4 during its sixth week.
Avril Lavigne's "Here's To Never Growing Up" dips 3-5, after a four week command. Six weeks ago, the single became the 6th #1 debut in our chart's history. It stayed relatively the same in airplay (down less than 3% from last week), but was barely edged out by NERVO. To date, it has spent 7 consecutive weeks in the top 5.
Kat DeLuna holds at #6 with "Stars".
Katy Tiz holds at #7 with newest single "Red Cup".
P!nk launches 12-8 with 31 week old "Try". She sets a record for "Longest Time to Reach Peak Position", after easily peaking at #10 in October of last year.
Sharon Doorson slides 8-9 with the #3 peaking "Fail In Love".
Rounding it out, Icona Pop's "I Love It (feat. Charli XCX)" holds at #10 after commanding the list 7 weeks ago.

Emmelie De Forest Wins Eurovision 2013
Emmelie De Forest was crowned the winner of the 2013 Eurovision Contest in the early hours of May 19th, 2013. She was so far ahead, that the voting was cut off and she was announced winner. The voting later resumed (only a few countries were left), but did little to the end result. Emmelie's song "Only Teardrops" scored 281 points total (including a perfect 12 from the likes of Sweden and other countries). It follows last year's winner (Loreen's "Euphoria"), which went on to become one of the biggest hits of 2012 in many countries. Although she won, her path to victory wasn't exactly clear. Her biggest competitors were (in no particular order): Ukraine, Russia, Norway and Azerbaijan. Emmelie narrowly beat out Azerbaijan's "Hold On" (by about 50 points), which ultimately came in second place. Ukraine's "Gravity" came in third place just 20 points behind Azerbaijan. Norway and Russia came in fourth and fifth place. To be honest the top 4 songs were all very good, and in our opinion any of them could deserve to win.
Our Personal Top 6
1. Only Teardrops (came in 1st Place)
2. You (came in 14th Place)
3. Gravity (came in 3rd Place)
4. Glorious (came in 21st Place)
5. I Feed You My Love (came in 4th Place)
6. Hold Me (came in 2nd Place)
Which songs did you think had a shot at winning?

Loreen: 1 Year Later
So... it has been exactly 52 weeks since Loreen first debuted at #1 with Eurovision 2012 winner "Euphoria". Where is she one year later? Still in the top 40 of our chart. Loreen has spent 51 out of the last 52 weeks on our chart, only falling off for a single week before a re-entry. She has also spawned another #1 single, another top 5 single and two more top 30 singles ("We Got the Power" enters at #22 this week). This puts her at a grand total of 5 entries over just one year.
She has also set numerous records (some of which have recently been broken) including "Most Weeks on Chart" (currently holds title with "Euphoria"), and "Most Weeks at #2" (broken by Florence Welch and Clavin Harris).
The real questions are "Can she repeat her first year success in her second year?", and "Will Euphoria manage to stay at least one more week for a complete year on the chart?".
We will find out soon enough...
